Vedic Line Papaya Scrub And Papaya Face Pack Review

What the Company claims: Vedic Line Papaya Scrub

Vedic Line Papaya Scrub And Papaya Face Pack Review

Get the skin amazingly clear and glowing.
Formulated from papaya, the most nutritious fruit, it effectively melts and removes extra melanin thereby avoiding skin darkening.
Natural papaya acids bring brightening with clear refreshing look.

Ingredients:

How to Use: Wet skin and gently massage for 2 to 3 minutes. Rinse it off with water then.

MRP: Rs. 175/- for 100ml

What the Company claims: Vedic Line Papaya Face Pack

Papaya formulated face pack helps removing blemishes and dark spots.
It also promotes fairness by increasing blood supply to skin.

Ingredients:

How to Use:
Wet skin and apply it liberally.
When it is semi dry, clean with damp cloth or rinse off with water.

MRP: Rs.175/- for 100ml

Since both are from the Papaya Range, I decided to review them together..I also use them together at times..

Both have a yellowish orange tub packaging with an orange cap..they have an overly sweet artificial smell which I did not like..

The scrub is brown in base with black walnut granules for scrubbing…its creamy enough and glides well on the skin..and the mask too has same texture..in fact the ingredients list for both are the same..except for the added walnut granules in the scrub.

It gives a tingling sensation for a few seconds at times but then resides soon.

Pros:

1. Parabens and chemicals free
2. Scrub is creamy enough for use..and does not dry on the skin in between…and same goes for the pack..in fact I like the fact that the pack is creamy and not watery kinds unlike a few face packs.
3. Economical.
4. Good enough quantity.
5. Both helped reduce tan and skin felt refreshed and moist..and not drying.
6. Ingredients include almond oil, clay and aloe vera along with Papaya..all are good for the skin.
7. Would suit all skin types..except sensitive skin..the scrub might be a little harsh for sensitive skin.
8. Shelf life of 3 years.

Cons:

1. The smell ! I hate the overly sweet smell.
2. Vedic Line is only available online.
3. Jar packaging.
4. Scrub might not suit sensitive skin.
5. I am amazed at the same ingredients in both..when both serve different purpose !
6. Contains Phenoxyethanol ! (More harmful than parabens)

Overall I liked both..but I liked the face pack more than the scrub..and for Papaya Scrub..Biotique Papaya Scrub is still my HG ! I surely recommend the face pack though.

Common Exfoliation Mistakes

Common Exfoliation Mistakes

While it’s true that no skin care regimen is complete with regular exfoliation, this task does require some basic guidelines to be effective. An important component of regular skin care, an exfoliating product should be strong enough to whisk away dead skin cells and, thus, help to clear out your pores. A good routine can result in skin that is fresher, brighter, less acne-prone, and more youthful.

Exfoliation helps encourage cell renewal and leaves skin looking and feeling radiant. Exfoliation works by gently lifting and removing dead skin cells that leave the skin dull and lack lustre, and gently sloughs them away to reveal brighter, healthier, newer layers of skin. This fresher layer of skin leaves your complexion looking fresh, radiant and youthful. Always make sure you use a quality exfoliator with smaller grains, instead of scrubs with larger grains as these can tear and cause irritation to the delicate skin area, doing more harm than good.

Commit some of these mistakes, however, and you might be cancelling out the supreme benefits of that scrub.

Mistake #1 – You scrub without water.

Before you exfoliate, it’s important to lubricate the skin with warm water. A “dry rub” can irritate the skin, causing redness, rashes, and painful after effects. Do yourself a favor and rinse your face first, then get to the scrubbing while your skin is still wet.

Mistake #2 – You scrub too hard.

Some people think that, to be effective, their exfoliating product must be mushed and mashed all over their face. On the contrary, the product is designed to do most of the work on its own. Instead of pushing and pulling the skin which leads to redness, stretching of the pores, and micro-level damage you won’t see until your older, go easy on your skin. Gently massage your fingertips over the skin in little circles for about 10-15 seconds, then move on to the next area. Any more is just overkill.

Mistake #3 – You scrub too often.

Exfoliation is definitely one of those things where the less-is-more philosophy works. While some of us might think exfoliating every day is a good idea (hey–you’ll get rid of lots of dead skin that way, right?), that’s too much. This kind of routine can leave your skin sore, damaged, and overexposed. For oily skin types, exfoliating twice a week is enough to keep cells turning over at a good pace and pores clear. Combination or dry skin types, however, can stick to a once a week schedule.

Mistake #4 – You scrub without follow-up care.

Scrubbing is important, but it’s a big deal for your skin. After you exfoliate the skin, you should always follow-up with a good moisturizer. Skipping this step can leave your skin over-dry and irritated, which can lead to overproduction of oil and lots of other issues. Quench skin’s thirst right away to avoid a dangerous cycle.

Mistake #5 – You scrub your face, but not everywhere else.

Many of us concentrate our healthy skin habits on one area: the face. But the rest of our bodies need some TLC once in a while today. Beyond washing daily, you should also moisturize daily and use a scrub once a week. Your rough elbows and knees will thank you for the extra attention.

Mistake #6 – You scrub with the wrong tools.

Before you scrub, make sure you’re using the right products for the right parts. Don’t use foot scrubs on your face (too harsh) or face scrubs on your body (not strong enough). The same goes for your scrubbing tools. Using a moderately rough loofah or sponge is okay for the body, but can be too much for the delicate skin on your face. Instead, stick to using your fingers with a scrub or a light exfoliating pad with regular face wash. Both will get the job done without causing irritation.

Mistake #7 – You scrub and carry on as usual.

Ignoring the fact that your skin is sensitive after scrubbing is an all-too-common error. When you scrub, the pores open up, brand new skin cells are exposed, and the moisture balance is a little off-kilter. Yes, stick to using that moisturizer as I mentioned in #4. Beyond that, go easy on your skin the day you exfoliate. After scrubbing, avoid sun exposure, harsh masks or facial peels, and hair removal products. The extra sensitivity can make it much easier to harm, irritate, and dry your skin after your weekly exfoliation.

Following exfoliation, the skin is primed and at it’s peak for absorbing products. This is why you should apply your moisturiser or a masque as the ingredients will absorb quicker and more deeper into the skin for maximum results.

Just by avoiding these common errors, your skin care routine can be greatly improved by regular exfoliation. Treat the skin kindly and it will pay off for years to come.

Now obviously since its a coffee scrub it would have a coffee aroma and coffee grits for exfoliation..the smell is strong Madras coffee one ! I quite love the smell…the texture is just fine..not too harsh and not too mild..but I guess sensitive skin should stay away. The base is very nice and creamy though. Coffee is very good for detox and cellulite too.

3. Scrubs off dead skin or dry flakes and without being too harsh or dry on the skin.

I am just lovinggg this..Its more of a face pack kind than a scrub. And its my HG too.
Its a pista colored creamy textured scrub and has very fine salt granules in it..so feels grainy..It claims to be a micro derm beauty scrub.

What the Company claims: This face and body scrub takes away layers of dulling cells and black heads.Cleans pores and makes skin look fresh and glowing. MRP : Rs. 80 for 60 gm tube

How I use it : I apply this all over my damp face.Keep it on for 10 mins and then while washing it off..scrub gently. Thus its a face pack cum scrub. It removes dead skin cells and helps in combating ingrowth if used on hands and legs.

4. Would be expensive if used on hands and legs as it will finish off soon.
5. The smell….some people might not like it…though I don’t have a sensitive nose and I am ok with it.

Overall I quite love it..my go to face pack cum scrub..my HG ! Totally recommended.

Skin Care Haul

Finally I found Khadi yesterday. There is a huge Khadi grih at the Khadi Lane ahead of VT station..I got a few things from there and some other daily winter essentials..
Here are they..

I got Garnier Body Cocoon, Lotus sun safe spray in SPF 50, Ashwin’s Rose water, Vaseline Petroleum Jelly, Glycerine, Everyuth Golden Glow peel off..and some Khadi products..

Which are
Khadi Body Massage Oil with Kesar, Almond oil and Olive oil
Khadi Kesar peel off scrub gel
Khadi Mauri facewash and
Khadi Fresh Jasmine handmade soap.

Khadi has its own hits and misses. Not everything is good and the quality varies coz different things are manufactured at different places in India. I would review these after using..

Have you used any of these ? Do you like Khadi products ?

Biotique Papaya Scrub Review

Biotique Papaya Scrub Review

Biotique Papaya Scrub says it is a soothing and revitalizing scrub suitable for all skin types. The older pack of it read 7 days facial scrub but they have changed the packaging now I guess..

What the Company claims : The enzymes contained in the Papaya Fruit remove dead epithelial cells and deep cleanse the skin. The rubbing of Papaya Fruit helps Speed up natural skin  leaving it fresher and younger looking.

Directions for use : Massage on wet face and neck with fingertips. Avoid eye area. Remove with water or damp washcloth. Use daily or as needed.

MRP- Rs 199 for 85 gm or 2.4 oz. (I got it for Rs.180)

Ingredients : Papita 5%, Kela 3%, Khajoor 2%, Neem 5%, Methi 1%, Yasad bhasm Zincum 5%, Ban Haldi 1%, Aam beej 1%, Bees Wax 3.5 %, Gum Acacai 1.5 %, Moongphali 2.5 %, Himalayan Water Q.S

It has all the natural things which are excellent for the skin like papaya, khajoor, neem, bees wax, gum acacia, peanuts, methi, etc. It is a cream colored thick scrub with fruit seeds for exfoliation. I would suggest not using it daily though they mention so in the directions coz daily exfoliation of your very delicate facial skin is not good. You can use it once a week or once in two weeks as you like.

But exfoliation or scrubbing is very important as it removes the dead skin cells from your skin making way for the new ones.

Blended

Pros :

1. It is natural and I would anyday prefer this over the chemical laden scrubs.
2. It leaves skin nice, smooth and soft.
3. Removes dry flakes from the skin.
4. It can be used as a body scrub as well..especially on elbows, knees and places where you have ingrowth.
5. Its expiry is 3 years from the date of manufacture. So it can be used for a long time even if you don’t use it regularly. I love this thing in all Biotique products.
6. I like the nice fruity smell.
7. Its very very creamy and I even keep it for a few minutes on the skin like a pack..so it would work both ways..as it has all the good stuff.

Cons:

1. As all Biotique products it comes in a tub making it difficult to use when its close to getting finished. Its unhygienic to use fingers. You can use a plastic spoon or something to remove the scrub.
2. The price is a bit high if you use it as a body scrub as it will finish up sooner. Its decent enough if used only as a face scrub as little goes a long way.
3. It stings a bit while scrubbing but nothing abnormal. I would suggest people with sensitive skin to do a patch test first before using it on face.

So overall I would suggest it to everyone as its damn good and my HG scrub.
Though I have’nt tried the much famous St. Ives Apricot and also Nivea Visage and others but those mostly have SLS which I think is harmful for th skin.

I have tried Nomarks Apricot scrub which I will review later. But I love this natural baby more…;)
