March Fab Bag Review + Giveaway

March Fab Bag Review + Giveaway

Hey guys,

Remember Vellvette Box..it was the first beauty box in India. Later on, it changed their name and revamped to Fab Bag.

About Fab Bag: At FAB BAG, we are beauty experts and addicts driven by our passion for high quality beauty products and delightful service. We recognize that our members are beauty enthusiastic women looking for great products that would work for their specific beauty needs and tastes, but do not have enough time, access or resources to try out and experience all that is available. We work hard in association with brands to select 3 amazing products exclusively customized for each member and send them in a delightful box to her doorstep every month, so that she never has to make the expensive mistake of buying products that do not work for her! We also advise members on how to make the best use of these products and keep them abreast of the latest beauty and fashion trends and insider know-how through our magazine.

MRP: Rs.599/- per month

You also get discounts on 6 months and 12 months subscription. Currently they are giving a Deborah Milano Atomic Lipstick free with 6-months subscription and Clinique Blush/Eyeshadow mini palette with 12-months subscription. Subscribe HERE

I love the concept of bags how they have a different customized bag each month according to the monthly theme. Also these bags are pretty useful and handy for travel, etc when you want to carry some basic makeup/skincare

For the month of March, they have a Woman’s Day Special Fab Bag. It’s a cute bright pink pouch with a Coco Chanel quote and also they are running a campaign called #MakeupForDifference where you can leave a message here http://fabbag.com/makeupfordifference/ and for every message, Rs.50/- shall be donated on your behalf to these inspiring Fab Women.

Let’s have a look at the contents of my March Fab Bag:

  • Inveda BB Cream in Fair- Full size (Rs.140/- for 15ml)
  • SoultTree Kajal in Pure Black- A special 3g packaging (Rs.340/- for 5g)
  • Palladio Herbal Lipstick in Rosey Plum- Full size (Rs.650/-)
  • Sebastian Professional Hydre Shampoo- 50ml (Rs.1400/- for 250ml)
  • Fashionography Earrings

To start with the Inveda BB cream, its quiet nice and good for everyday use. Only issue being just 2 shades available: Fair and Matt

I have tried the SoulTree Kajal before, the Pure Black is much smoother than other colors which go on a little hard. Also its all natural and organic made from ghee and camphor, but if you are looking for something smudge free, this won’t help at all.

I loved a full sized lipstick in the bag, though I wish I would have got some other matte shade. This shade Rosey Plum has shimmer and I am not a fan of shimmer.

I like the Sebastian shampoo deluxe size and would be carrying it for my next travel.

Absolutely loved these cute butterfly blue earrings from Fashionography.

Overall, some hits and misses. Though more of hits for the price of Rs.599/-. I absolutely recommend giving Fab Bag a try.

Coming to the giveaway now, one of you lucky one wins this March Fab Bag. I am hosting a giveaway for the same,on my Instagram.

All you need to do is follow me HERE and Fab Bag on Instagram and repost the first image tagging 2 of your friends. The giveaway starts right now and ends after a week on 25th March.

Good Luck 🙂

Head & Shoulders Nourishing Winter Care Anti- Dandruff Shampoo Review

Head & Shoulders Nourishing Winter Care Anti- Dandruff Shampoo Review

Hey guys,

I am so sorry for not posting much. I have got a bit lazy with all the resting. Also I have started watching the Hip Hip Hurray series again..do you remember? Finished half..loving it!

Come winters, dandruff becomes my main hair concern :/ The dry climate only worsens the scalp. I am glad I got to try an Anti Dandruff Shampoo at the right time. I started using it in Jan, now since summers have started, its not too much of an issue though. I use this once a week now.

Remember the contest I had hosted HERE, I myself was trying this shampoo out and here is the review

Head & Shoulders Nourishing Winter Care Anti- Dandruff Shampoo for Women

What the Company claims: Richly indulgent anti-dandruff shampoo for dry damaged or frizzy hair. Leaves hair up to 100% dandruff free. Gentle enough for everyday use even for color or chemically treated hair. Formulated with Head & Shoulders’ Fresh Scent Technology featuring enhanced fragrance notes for an improved in-shower scent experience.

MRP: Rs.163/- for 170ml

Claims,Directions,Ingredients:

Its a blue and white colored slightly curved on the top bottle packaging with a flip cap. The shampoo is creamy white in color and smells amazing!

It lathers well and is not even that drying as the other anti-dandruff shampoos I have tried (even Head & Shoulders variants)

I definitely saw a reduction in my dandruff and it was not too harsh on the hair too.

Overall hair was soft and smooth and it reduces hair fall caused by breakage of hair. Also less dryness, which is the first for me, in an anti- dandruff shampoo. Worked great for me. Definitely recommend! If you do not have too much of a dandruff issue, you can use it once a week. I have switched to using it once a week now.

But even when I was using it everyday, I did not experience any extra hair fall as such. I liked the Nourishing  Winter Care.

Rating: 4/5

I love the red and white packaging. The first can shaped packaging shampoo I own, its different. Though not very travel friendly coz of the size.

Entire range is white in color and smells nice like a salon treatment does. The shampoo is runny but foams well. Cleanses scalp amazingly well, gets rid of all the dirt and grime. It is not drying and detangles hair. Its perfect for daily use too.

Conditioner is slightly runny. I like my conditioners rich and creamy. I did not find the conditioner rich or hydrating enough. My ends need more hydration and runny, liquid type conditioners do not work for me, This conditioner might work for someone with oily hair and scalp.

Coming to the hair mask, its the best in this range! Its thick, rich and creamy. It hydrates the hair really well with no heaviness. Hair does not weigh down. It is like a deep conditioning spa at home. I use it once a week or so coz it requires extra time and I am usually late and running :p But still whenever I use it, hair is super soft and smooth. No frizz or weighing down.

Overall, I would say I loved the shampoo and mask in this range. I did not like the conditioner much and when I use the three together, the results are amazing coz the last thing is the mask.

They have four different ranges in shampoo and conditioner:

  • Born Again- For Stressed Hair
  • Full on Volume- For Fine Hair
  • Perfect Balance- For Normal to Dry Hair
  • Intense Moisture- For Seriously Dry Hair

I got recommended the Perfect Balance in Shampoo and Intense Moisture in Conditioner after my hair consultation.

Shampoo and Conditioner are a part of Prep. They also have dry shampoo, foams and other styling products as a part of Style.

I have been using this from quite some time now. To start with, I love the packaging! So colorful and the shapes are fun too! Pump packaging in shampoos are very convenient, though not good for travel. You can pump it out in a small bottle for travelling. And the conditioner has a flip cap packaging.

Both are white in color and have a fresh smell. Shampoo is a little runny and does not foam too much but decent enough.

Shampoo cleanses the hair thoroughly well in one wash and hair does not feel dry after cleansing, it maintains the Ph balanace as claimed.

Conditioner is rich and creamy and since I have drier ends, its perfect for them.

Hair had less tangles while being washed. It gave volume and bounce to the hair. Hair was smoother with less frizz. But it does not give a sleek look or shine, I was not even expecting that.

It does not weigh the hair down. And is a normal no fuss shampoo that cleanses the hair thoroughly while maintaining the moisture balance. Hair is neither oily nor dry and stays so for 2 days. Its safe and light enough to use everyday too.

Conditioner is rich and creamy and moisturises the ends, but still did not weigh the hair down. Neither made it oily or greasy.

Both the shampoo and conditioner are decent enough and good for everyday use. They do not claim tall things. It is what you expect from a normal shampoo and conditioner.

Only availability is an issue. Its either available at BBLUNT salons or online.

It does not have SLS but does have SLES,it does not foam much, so mild enough to cleanse your hair and get rid of the dirt and grease.

Rating: 3.75/5

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Shampoo,Conditioner Review

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Shampoo,Conditioner Review

What the Company claims: Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Range:  Enriched with the goodness of oils and fruit  vitamins,  Triple Nutrition nourishes and strengthens* the hair  from scalp,  through lengths to tips, leaving hair strong, nourished, shiny and manageable. This range has been specially developed for Indian women and has an exquisite fragrance. The conditioner can be applied on hair and scalp.

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Strengthening Shampoo: Available in 80 ml for MRP Rs. 69, 175 ml for MRP Rs. 135, 340 ml for MRP Rs. 230, sachet:6.5ml for MRP Rs.3

Shampoo Ingredients:

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Strengthening Conditioner: Available in 80 ml for MRP Rs. 70, 175 ml for MRP Rs. 135,sachet: 7.5ml for MRP Rs.4

Conditioner Ingredients:

Recently Alia Bhatt, being the new Garnier Fructis Brand Ambassador, launched this new Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner at Palladium Hotel.

It comes in a lovely yellow colored packaging. Triple Nutrition involves Coconut Oil, Almond Oil and  Olive Oil. I was never much impressed with Garnier Fructis range especially the conditioner, coz what I seek in a shampoo is smooth, silky, shiny hair which the previous range did not give me.  Though it helped in cleansing well and frizz control, straighter hair.

So I did not expect much from this range too, but reading the claims and ingredients, I did find it interesting.

L’Oreal Paris had launched the 6 Oil Nourish Range sometime back, and both L’Oreal and Garnier Fructis fall under the L’Oreal Paris group. So another oil based nourishing shampoo range from the same parent company, was intriguing.

The ingredients of both the ranges are quite similar. Even the 3 oils out of the 6 in L’Oreal 6 Oil Nourish Range are the same, with actually the slightly more expensive ones like Argan, Jojoba and Camelina being removed, when the price of both the ranges is exactly the same for the same quantity.

Though I would say its nice that its not completely oil based and has a blend of fruits like lemon, apple and sugarcane extracts too, which makes it lighter and perfect for oily scalp and hair.

Both the shampoo and conditioner are white in colour. Not too thick nor the runny kinds. I love the fresh lemon, apple smell!

Shampoo cleanses hair amazingly well in one single wash. If you have oiled your hair, you might need two washes. Conditioner is creamy but not rich. And not gel like which slips or falls from the hand, like in some brands. Its the perfect texture and moisturizing enough. Though they say you can use it on your scalp, I never use the conditioners on my scalp.

Leaves the hair softer, smoother and stays so for 2-3 days without the scalp feeling oily/greasy. And hair was tangle free. Though it does not help much in hairfall and dandruff, which I did not even expect it too.

If the shampoo/conditioner is not moisturizing enough, it may leave the hair dry, but if it is too rich and creamy, it weighs down oily scalp and hair, though works well for dry hair.

L’Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Range is richer and perfect for dry hair. This one is moisturizing yet light enough for normal to oily hair.

Overall, I liked it. Much beyond expectations being Garnier Fructis. The 1st ever Garnier Fructis range that worked so well for me.

TRESemme Split End Remedy Shampoo, Conditioner Review

TRESemme Split End Remedy Shampoo, Conditioner Review

What the Company claims: The new range incorporates Amino Vitamin Blend and helps to rescue split ends, resulting in – easier to style, more manageable, shiny and stronger hair.

TRESemmé Split Remedy Shampoo gently cleanses hair of oil and dirt while the TRESemmé Split Remedy Rinse Out Conditioner conditions hair strands leaving your hair look healthy and stay smooth. TRESemmé Split Remedy is a salon quality formulation with Amino-vitamin blend and helps rescue up to 96% of split ends with use of shampoo and conditioner in just three washes for healthy-looking, smooth hair ready to style.

How does it work?  The Innovative range contains Silicone, amino-vitamin blend and conditioning ingredients. All these ingredients from the formulation work in synergy to reduce split ends of hair fibre. The Silicone in the formulation has ability to form a lubricating layer on hair fibre. When hair is treated with shampoo and conditioner this layer helps to coat hair fibre to help bring hair fibres and split ends together. This layer also helps to reduce friction between 2 fibres and improve hair alignment.

This also includes blend of vitamins- Vit H, Vit B3, Vit C and Vit E along with lysine all known nourishing ingredients. The formula also contains poly electrolyte complex, oppositely charged polymers which are known to aid bringing split ends together.

I had been trying out the TRESemme Split End Remedy  Shampoo and Conditioner as I had mentioned HERE and had even shared on my facebook..from about 2-3 weeks..

And now its time to review them. First of, I am loving the bright green  colored packaging..the smell and feel of this shampoo and conditioner is totally professional salon kinds.

Both the shampoo and conditioner are white in color with normal texture..not too runny..have a nice fresh smell..that stays throughout the day! They have a easy flip cap packaging.

The shampoo lathers amazingly well..you do not need lots of it..it foams well, cleanses well..and gets rid of all the dirt and oil in a jiffy.

The conditioner is not the heavy moisturising kinds..but does its job well..I work it especially towards the end..since its meant to mend split ends..

If you read the ingredients carefully, you would see Keratin, Bition, Vitamin E, Vitamin B3, Vitamin C, etc which are all very good for the hair. It definitely gave me healthy looking, smooth hair as per their claims!

Now, I do not have much of an split ends problem, so cannot comment on the difference it makes. But what, I love about this range is, it is super light weight and gives my hair the shine and bounce..even the next day..I love how my hair feels after using this! No frizz, no weighing down, no greasiness. Only nice smelling, shiny, bouncy hair.

You can see my love for this range and how much my hair loves it.. my hair stays well behaved with this range.

I surely recommend this range..its my current Holy Grail! Highly recommend it.
