Picks from Femme Luxe | Try On Haul

Hi guys,

I recently came across this website Femme Luxe and loved their collection, especially the prices. It’s a UK based women’s clothing store. They have a wide variety in athleisurewear, co-ords and solid coloured dresses and jumpsuits.

The collection is very trendy and apt for curvy girls.

About the collection: From head-turning evening and going out dresses to cute n’ chilled casual day dresses, shop every style from slinky and bodycon, to crepe and bandage. Going out, Everyday Slay, Special Occasion, Date Night, Just Chillin…they have dresses for everything

They also have shoes and accessories like belts, bags, corsets, hair accessories and even some beauty items.

There is a separate trend section where they cover collections as per current trends like ruched, corsets, slogans, snake print, student style, etc.

I picked 4 things..

1. Black one shoulder Jumpsuit

I love how this jumpsuit hugs the body and is super flattering, the flare makes one look taller. And the belt accentuates the waist. I paired everything with gold hoops and clear heels.

2. Red Bodycon Dress

Their dresses section is pretty vast and has a lot of variety in terms of colours, silhouttes, designs, styles, etc. Again love the fact that it hugs the body beautifully. The fabric is thick enough and not sheer/see through. It is quite comfortable and looks and feels good.

3. Camel Lounge Wear Sets

They have quite a range of colours in lounge wear sets. I picked this camel one. It’s not meant for summers obviously, but it’s great for travel and those airport looks 😀 It’s a perfect travel set and very comfortable again.

4. Khakhi Sweater Jumper

This khakhi cropped sweater jumper goes so well with basic black leggings, again for cold places. You can even wear a thermal inside and it will act as a double layer. Very athleisure for sure.

I loved the black jumpsuit and red bodycon dress, they are great for night time/evening out. And both the lounge wear set and jumper sweater will work for travel/everyday wear in colder climates.

They cover all sizes till 12 and everything fits pretty well. The quality is pretty good for the price and I will definitely be buying more from Femme Luxe. And I do recommend it.

However, here are some quick tips and tricks to follow to buy shoes for women in India.

• The perfect size – Sizing in shoe shopping matters a lot and especially while purchasing shoes online. Every website provides you with a chart and one should try to follow that. But before you move forward, I want to tell you that the size varies from brand to brand. For e.g. If you are size 34 in one brand, you may be size 35 in another. Also, it varies from design to design. To have the perfect fit, take a blank sheet of paper, pencil and ruler measure the feet

Look for the reviews and decide accordingly. Also, if your favourite shoe brand has its own website, then definitely go for that. If the shoes do not have the perfect fit, they are useless. Therefore, before purchasing shoes online, always check the return policy of the website, the terms and conditions attached and the number of days within which you have to return.

• Shoe material – We are often disillusioned by the amazing look of a pair of shoes and we forget to check the material. Not every pretty shoe is going to have the most amazing and comfortable material. Sometimes, a particular material irritates the skin or causes extreme shoe bites which makes it very uncomfortable to wear. Therefore, always check the material before purchasing online. People often mention if it runs larger, smaller or are true to size.

Bangkok Haul: Daiso, Wet N Wild, Mistine, DHC

Hi guys,

I went to Bangkok in December and since I was there only for a day and got just few hours to shop, here are the things I bought..

  • Daiso Brown Mat Tray
  • Daiso Pink Jewellery Organiser
  • Daiso Eyebrow Pencil
  • Daiso Brown Eyeliner Pen
  • Daiso Eyelash Glue
  • 3 pairs of False Lashes
  • Set of 3 Facial Razors
  • Daiso Makeup Brush Cleanser
  • Mini Tripod

All the things from Daiso were 60 THB (i.e. Rs.112/-) In terms of organisation stuff, it was heaven! They had so much and I didn’t have space, so had to restrict myself. It’s like a dollar store, so everything is flat 60 bahts mostly, and then in denomination of 60. It’s a Japanese 100 yen brand/store, I so wish they come to India and have the flat 99 price, that would be amazing. They are in talks with Reliance Retail to enter India and I hope that happens soon.

Then I got two Mistine products from Beauty Station..

  • Mistine 3D Brows Secret Eyebrow Set – Around Rs.500
  • Mistine Eye & Lip Makeup Remover- Around Rs.400-450/-

There was a Wet N Wild Kiosk and I got 4 things from Wet N Wild, which was very reasonably priced.

  • Wet N Wild Mega Glo Contouring Face Palette Rs.560
  • Wet N Wild Eyeshadow Single Brass- Rs.185
  • Wet N Wild Megalast Lip Colour Bare It All- Rs.260
  • Wet N Wild Eye Pencil in Calling Your Buff Naturel- Rs.223

And lastly I got the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. I have heard so much about this and I am glad I finally found it. It’s a much raved product and deep cleanses your pores and removes makeup, dirt, grime, everything from your pores. This was a little on the expensive side, costing around Rs.850-900 but the quantity is pretty good. They also gave a few samples.

That’s it for beauty and makeup part. I got a lot of food items i.e. candies and knick-knacks which I will do a separate food tasting video for, on my YouTube channel.

So a few months back, my husband had gone to US for his work and obviously I had to order a few things 😀 This haul is long pending, I had to record the video and click pictures and hence the delay. I haven’t used any of this yet because I wanted to click pictures :/ Yes, I know I have too much self control!

Here’s what all I got from Sephora:

  • Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champange Pop (Becca x Jaclyn Hill collab)- $38
  • Sephora Cream Lip Stain 13 Marvelous Mauve – $14
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick Rio – $20
  • Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Lolita – $20
  • Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Lolita II – $20

Now I wanted to get the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit which had 4 highlighters and it was $40. But Champagne Pop was on my wishlist since a long time and I love Jaclyn Hill! Considering the price of Champagne Pop and Glow Kit, Glow Kit was obviously a more economical option as you get 4 different highlighters and just one here. It was a tough choice but I went with Champagne Pop 😀 I will get the Glow Kit sometime later

Kat Von D Lolita and Lolita II are her best selling shades and I see why. Both are super flattering and would work on any skin tone, be it warm or cool. In terms of formula, Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks are the most comfortable liquid lipsticks I have tried till now. They are not at all drying and super comfortable, though they don’t last as long as the drying ones.

Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks are very drying and accentuate the dryness and lines on the lips. But they are easily the most long lasting liquid lipsticks and also have some bright, fun shades. I got the shade Rio which is the brightest and most neon pink I own! I got it only for the shade! It’s such a fun, summer colour. I am totally into bold shades and liquid lipsticks right now

And lastly, I have heard so many good things about the Sephora Cream Lip Stains and again they are very comfortable and not drying. I love mauve shades and this one is a perfect, everyday wear shade. Also one of their best selling shade again.

I got the Fresh Skincare Set samples free at Sephora.

Then I ordered few things from Colourpop and Amazon.com.

I got all liquid lipsticks mostly, I am obsessed with Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks as they are the most economical option and you get a ton of shade options. At $6, I highly recommend Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks! If you want something long lasting, then Colourpop Ultra Matte formula and if you want something comfortable, then Colourpop Ultra Satin formula. I go by shades mostly, coz both the formulas are ok with me. If I like the shade, I order it. And I have majority Colourpop Ultra Matte in my stash.

Ultra Satin in Toolips and Frick N Frack

I placed one more order on Colourpop when one of my cousin was coming from US in December. You can order Colourpop directly from their site as they offer worldwide shipping but since Colourpop is pretty cheap, there will be customs duty levied on it. All liquid lipsticks in India, i.e. Colorbar, Chambor, etc are 900-1000, so they compare the prices and levy duty on it.

I have been wanting to try the LA Girl Pro HD Concealers since a long time, though there is not much of a price difference in India, I just thought of ordering them too since they were definitely cheaper. They are $5-6 in US online and even less in some stores and here around Rs.550-600, so the difference is not huge. I got orange for color correcting dark circles, creamy beige as my concealer shade and Toast for contouring.

Elf Baked Highlighter in Blush Gems is an exact dupe of MAC Highlighter in Soft and Gentle. So obviously, I had to get it! Maybelline Highlighter stick is not yet launched in India and I wanted to try it, so I got that. Stick highlighters are cream based and very handy to carry around and travel with to.

Of course I read all reviews and ordered all items which are good and raved about. So if you want to buy anything from these, trust me it’s good and go ahead 🙂
