First Impression: OxyLife Natural Radiance Creme Bleach

Hi guys,

There are so many times we feel our skin looks dull and lacks that inner glow. We all need that glow, right 😉 Especially before an important event or a party.

Does your skin lack glow and looks dull and dark? Has uneven skin tone? Often exposed to harsh sunlight, dirt and pollution? Well chances are it lacks oxygen.

With age, your skin loses its ability to retain and utilise oxygen for normal metabolic processes. Oxygen basically nurtures and energizes your skin, making it look hydrated, plumper and younger!

And how can you get oxygen into your skin? This new bleach OxyLife can help.

Powered with the patented OxySphere Technology developed in Germany, OxyLife bleach gives a radiance that a regular facial can never give.

How does OxySphere Technology work?
Enables pure oxygen molecules to be trapped in the product
Oxygen is released from the product at the time of application
Oxygen molecules go inside the skin to give a high boost of pure oxygen

What does OxyLife bleach claim: BECAUSE THAT GLOW ON YOUR FACE IS PRICELESS! Presenting, the original oxygen bleach that makes you look radiant in just 15 minutes – OxyLife. Enriched with active oxygen and post-bleach skin radience serum, OxyLife solves 5 fairness problems like-dark spots, uneven skin tone, dull skin, dead skin cells and sun tan.

What does OxyLife bleach do to your skin?
When OxyLife bleach is applied on the skin, pure oxygen is released. The scientifically formulated bleach has micro structurants which help prevent the released oxygen from escaping into the atmosphere. The oxygen carries active ingredients into your skin, brightens, nourishes, energizes and protects, giving you naturally radiant skin instantly!

How I use:

  • Wash face with plain water and pat dry.
  • Take crème bleach and powder activator in the ratio of 7:1.
  • Using the spatula, mix the activator and crème for a good 2 minutes till the powder activator dissolves completely.
  • Apply the mixture on the area to be bleached. Avoid application on eyebrows and around the eyes.
  • Allow it to remain for 10-12 minutes
  • Wash off with cold water.
  • Apply the post-bleach skin radiance serum on the bleached area

MRP: Rs. 35/- for 7g (1 use), Rs. 80/- for 27g (3 uses)

My skin needed that oxygen or that glow, it was starting to look dull of late. So I thought why not give this a try. Also OxyLife Natural Radiance Creme Bleach is ammonia free, that gave me another reason to try it out.

OxyLife Bleach will help get rid of all your dead skin cells, tan and make the frizz on the face lighter in turn giving you a fresh, glowing look.

I tried the single use pack of OxyLife Natural Radiance Creme Bleach, I feel the single use pack is better as it comes pre-measured and there is no risk of too much cream or activator.

The post bleach skin radiance serum is transparent and gel like in texture. It glides on smoothly on the face and gives a dewy finish to the skin.

My skin looked fresh and radiant, I could see a visible difference. I have a bit of fuzz too, so with that being light and the tan and dead cells gone,my skin looked amazing. I believe the effect would easily last for 2-3 weeks.

Absolutely loved the OxyLife Natural Radiance Creme Bleach and recommend it. For people who regularly bleach, you can try this out next and for people who want to get into bleaching, start with something mild like this one.

I am not into regular bleaching but whenever I do, I will prefer OxyLife Bleach, definitely #SayYesToOxygen

Have you tried the OxyLife Natural Radiance Creme Bleach? What do you think of it?

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet Review

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet Review

What the Company claims: Scoop an industry first with this cool body moisturiser, infused with zingy satsuma scent! Our breakthrough sorbet texture instantly melts into skin for a frosty burst of fresh moisture. Light and fast-absorbing,leaves body instantly moisturised upto 24 hours of hydration.

MRP: Rs.795/- for 200ml

How to use: Glide onto skin and enjoy the frosted moisture sensation all over your body. Insider’s tip: Put your Body Sorbet in the fridge for an even more refreshing moisture sensation

Variants available: Strawberry (Fruity), Satsuma (Citrusy), Moringa (Floral)

Ingredients:

The Body Shop launched their Body Sorbets in summers which is the apt season to launch this product. It is an industry first, i.e. no other brand has a product like ‘Body Sorbet’.

It comes in the long tube packaging with a flip cap and comes in this 200ml size only. It is slightly huge and not very travel friendly.

I have tried a lot of Strawberry products from The Body Shop and wanted to try some other variant. Moringa was not something I liked the smell of and so I went with Satsuma and I am glad! I absolutely love the citrus burst of Satsuma, it smells like ‘Fresh Orange Juice’.

I avoid heavy and rich moisturisers in summers as they make my skin feel more oily and sweaty, Body Sorbet was a savior in summers as it gave hydration was so light and refreshing that it got absorbed in a jiffy without any greasiness on the skin.

It is light peach in color and thick gel like in texture but very light and water based.

Also when it was scorching hot, I did keep it in the fridge as mentioned in the tip above, and it felt so awesome. Now since the summers have gone and it’s the monsoons, I don’t keep it in the fridge. I am still using it as in Mumbai as it is never cold and mostly summers here throughout the year except 2 months.

It is slightly on the expensive side of course as around 800 bucks is a lot for 200ml body moisturizer, but you don’t need a lot with this as it spreads well. And also it does not provide 24 hours hydration obviously. This will only work in summers and for someone with normal to oily skin.

Overall I would say, try this in summers or if you live in a hot, humid city. You will absolutely love this. I will not recommend it for people with very dry skin as this will not suffice the moisturisation your skin needs.

MyGlamm Services: Review & Experience

MyGlamm Services: Review & Experience

About My Glamm: MyGlamm offers bespoke beauty services at your doorstep, pamper yourself with on-demand hair, beauty and grooming services by expert artists from the industry at your convenience. For the first time in India, an incubator that helps artists to connect with potential clients is specially designed at the MyGlamm studio.

The Glamm Team that has brought you the French L’OCCITANE Spas, the New York based Warren Tricomi Salons and the fashionable ELLE Spas & Salons, are now bringing to you MyGlamm, a mobile App for on-demand hair, beauty and glamm services at your doorstep.

They are soon coming up with Android and iOS app, which will be very convenient and helpful.

More on their site here: http://myglamm.com/ or Call 1 800 3000 4526 to order a MyGlamm service.

Recently I got a chance to try out MyGlamm services and I haven’t been to a salon for any services in like ages, so I was like why not. The best part is, it is all in the comfort of your home!

I actually wanted to try a facial and I selected the Forest Essentials Facial, but later on I was informed that they don’t have the Forest Essentials facial yet and it will take 10-15 days for that. They offered me the O3+ facial but for my skin type, they suggested the Whitening Facial and I am not into whitening,so was not keen on that.

I went with a basic O3+ clean up and Spa Manicure/Pedicure. All you need to do is select the service and fix your timing and location. They call to confirm your appointment. I was told on call that the clean up and manicure would be done by the lady and the pedicure would be done by the guy, at 4 pm and 5 pm respectively.

MyGlamm is based at Lower Parel, so the artists were coming all the way from there. The lady arrived 15 minutes late and she apologized for that and it was ok since it was raining a lot that day.

She set up everything first and then started with the clean up. I saw the O3+ products used and again it was all the whitening range being used in the clean up too, the very same reason I did not go for the O3+ facial. This was only mentioned as clean up and I had not idea that it involved whitening products :/

O3+ Products used for Clean Up- Step wise Left to Right

She started with cleansing, followed with applying a microdermabrasion peel and massaged it for some time. It was followed by a steam and extracting the blackheads/whiteheads, followed by a tonic/toner. She then massaged the face, neck and shoulders with the massage cream for about 7-8 minutes and a face mask was applied at the end.

The guy had already arrived at my place while the clean up was going on, and they started with my mani-pedi while I had the mask on my face.

Pedicure Tub

I really liked the manicure/pedicure too, as it was quite detailed and nicely done. Everything from scrubbing to get rid of dead skin, cuticle cream, massage cream to foot scrub and foot mask was taken care of. I liked the fact that they had individual packs for every cream and both had a separate kit. The entire mani/pedi kit was also well arranged.

She was carrying her threading kit too and asked me if I would like to get my eyebrows done, so I thought let me just get my extra hair removed. So she did my eyebrows and upper lip too. Only thing is I got a red bump on my forehead which did not subside for 2 days :/

My hands post manicure 🙂

I was happy with the clean up and mani-pedi and could see visible results and difference. My hands and feet were quite soft and well moisturised with no trace of dead or dry skin at all.

The process of clean up and mani-pedi took a little more than 3 hours which was unexpected. I thought it would be maximum done in 2 hours.

Some things I liked:

  • The entire idea of getting the services done in the comfort of your home is quite nice, and saves a lot of time and energy.
  • Easy to book an appointment
  • The services were nicely done and I could see visible results.
  • The products used are of a very good quality.
  • Artists are well trained to ask if a customer is comfortable and how to go about things.

Some things I thought could have been better:

  • They informed me that a guy would be coming for pedicure, I believe they should have asked me if I am comfortable with a guy and should have given me an option. I would have not had a problem before, but now since I live alone, I was not the most comfortable.
  • While the lady was 15 minutes late, the guy was 15 minutes early and I was not comfortable with the idea of me being in a disposable gown inside my bedroom and an unknown guy at my place in the other room. I think he could have called before coming and accordingly come a bit later.
  • I had a fresh shoe bite and despite telling him 3-4 times, he was always touching at the same place which was quite painful.
  • If an estimate of time could have been given beforehand, coz 3 hours 15 minutes was a long time.
  • The water in the pedicure tub took a long time to heat up
  • He forgot the base coat on the toe nails.

Overall, I am quite happy with this initiative, and when MyGlamm would be available on app, it would be even more convenient. There one gets to see every artist, their experience, availability and book accordingly.

Here is the current MyGlamm services rate card:

They are priced a little more than the normal parlors, almost equal to Lakme or Enrich chain of salons. But you get to do it at your time and place.

Update: 07/02/2017- My recent experience has not been good. I am trying from the past one month to book a mani-pedi and all their spa artists are unavailable! No point of offering services if artists are not available. If you get an appointment, you may try their services or else just leave and try some other services as I would not advise waiting 1-2 months!

Have you tried any at-home salon services like this? What do you think of MyGlamm?

P.S: Services were offered by the brand but that has not affected my review.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum comes in this long and slender aqua blue bottle with a transparent cap and a pump packaging. The pump is easy to use and dispense the product, no pressing 10 times to get the product unlike in few.

It’s a glass bottle and slightly heavy, hence not very travel friendly. Coming to the texture, it is off white in color, and gel like in texture as most serums. It feels slightly slippery but not much and gets easily absorbed into the skin, without leaving any residue or slippery feeling even though it has silicones (Dimethicone & Dimethiconol)

It is very hydrating and moisturising, my skin feels evenly hydrated and there have been no breakouts or dry patches with this. And the best part is no stickiness or greasiness at all! It is so light that you would not feel you have used any moisturizer and still have your skin completely hydrated.

It does what it claims, hydrated, plump and fresh looking skin all day. I use it once in the morning and I am sorted, I sometimes use it at night too, but currently using a different product at night time.

It does not claim much like even skin tone or anti-ageing, etc, so all it does it provide you hydration. This will work great for all skin types, be it oily or dry, since it does it’s job of hydration well and is very light in texture.

It is a bit on the expensive side, but this lasts really long as you need just one single pump for your entire face and neck. It is available online and also on www.vichy.in

Overall, I would say it is not something which makes tall claims about giving you flawless skin, but it does what it claims. So if you are looking for a good moisturiser for your dry skin or have dry patches on the skin, then this will definitely work for you. Recommended.

Spinz Sun-Tan Remover: Review,Demo

Spinz Sun-Tan Remover: Review,Demo

Spinz Sun-Tan Remover Instant De-Tan Cream is a first of its kind.

What the Company claims: The product contains no bleach, has been dermatologically  tested and found to be safe for all skin types. It’s like a facial you can get at home where you can achieve a de-tanned radiant look in just 5 minutes. Salon like fairness and radiant skin in just 5 minutes.

Ingredients:

Directions:

MRP: Single use 9g Sachet: Rs.10, 25g tube: Rs.49, 50g tube: Rs.89/-

You know the time when you have been out in the sun for a long, long time and terrible tanned and have an important meeting or event to attend! Well, aren’t those the terrible days, especially when you have a t-shirt or hair band tan line.

Fret not, coz now we have one innovative product which can help us in such SOS cases! Today I am reviewing the new Spinz Sun-Tan Remover Instant De-Tan Cream.

You just need to use a good 9g of this product as a mask, massage it a bit on the skin in small, circular motions and keep it for about 5-10 minutes and wash off. You can use it daily too, untill your skin is completely de-tanned or may be on a regular basis if you are someone who has to be in the sun almost daily, like if you have a job that requires you to travel a lot or you are in college.

It comes in different packaging from a one time sachet to a tube. The tube has white and purple packaging. It is a thick white cream, with an artificial scent but thank goodness, it is quite mild unlike bleaches.

Bleaches are something which burn my eyes instantly and my eyes turn red, even if I have used the mildest beach and the minutest quantity. I am glad this is a ‘No Bleach’ cream, did not burn my eyes and no strong bleach smell too.

The key ingredients of this cream are milk, lemon and honey. Lemon and the lactic acid in milk are especially known to de-tan the skin. Also, honey keeps the skin pH balanced and moisturised. It is dermatologically tested and safe for all skin types.

Here is my Before, with the cream and After..

These pics are from the first time use and I notice some brightness on the skin in one use itself, though I was not very tanned to see a major difference.

Remember, this is NOT a daily wear moisturising cream which will blend into your skin. This is a mask which needs to be washed off after 5-10 minutes and is only used in this way.

You will feel a slight tingling sensation but that is very mild.

Now my skin is such that it takes months and months for the sun tan to completely go away. I saw a marked improvement with the first use,and a little better result on the 2nd and 3rd day. I am quite happy with the product.

If you have to attend a wedding, use it some time before you get ready for the function. And you can pair you fresh de-tanned skin with a pretty anarkali or a net saree with gold eyes and fuchsia/red lips.

Few things to remember:

  • Do not keep it longer than 10 minutes
  • Do not go out in the sun immediately after using it
  • Do not use a face wash/soap for 6 hours

If you are looking for an instant solution for your de-tanned skin, look no further. You will be amazed with the results with regular use of Spinz Sun-Tan Remover. Check out more on their site here www.spinzbanthetan.com

Also, watch this TVC..

Overall, I would say it’s a must try! If you are tanned and have tried all kinds of DIY or products, make sure to give this a try too! I highly recommend it! #SpinzBanTheTan

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Hi guys,

Today I am reviewing the much raved about Bioderma Sensibio H2O. Bioderma is a French pharmacy brand and most of the Bioderma products are now available in India and they are looking at more distribution soon 🙂 Micellar Cleansing Water is what quite a few brands offer, I have tried the Vichy one too. (Review coming soon). It is basically a water based cleanser/makeup remover.

What the Company claims: Sensitive to intolerant skin. Sensibio H2O is the 1st and only dermatological micellar water perfectly compatible with the skin: its fatty acid esters, the constituent elements of micelles, are similar to the phospholipids of the skin cell membranes and naturally help rebuild the skin’s hydrolipidic film.

Benefits: Combines performance and very high tolerance
Cleanses and removes make-up from the face and eyes
Soothes and clears up irritated skin
Produces a feeling of instant freshness
Non-rinse

Product + :
Even removes water-resistant make-up
One bottle of Sensibio H2O sold around the world every 5 seconds!
Fragrance-free formula
Alcohol-free
Paraben-free
Hypoallergenic

Directions to use: Morning and/or evening – 7 days a week
Soak a cotton pad with Sensibio H2O.
Gently cleanse and/or remove make-up from your face and eyes.
Re-apply until the cotton pad becomes clean.
Lightly dab your face with a clean cotton towel.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Peg-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Propylene Glycol, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Mannitol, Xylitol, Rhamnose, Fructooligosaccharides, Disodium Edta, Cetrimonium Bromide.

MRP: Rs.599/- for 100ml, Rs.860/- for 200ml (Available on Nykaa.com)

Essentially Bioderma products are safe for sensitive skin and this product Sensibio H2O is specially made for sensitive skin and hence it is very gentle on the skin.

I love the fact that it comes in different variants, and this small 100ml bottle is perfect to carry for your travels.

It has a small, round bottle transparent packaging with a pink flip cap. It looks and feels exactly like water,as do all micellar cleansing water.  It is fragrance free. It comes with a sealed lock, so you can be assured your product is not tampered.

You just soak a cotton pad with this and remove all your makeup. It melts the base and gets it all off in a jiffy,90% of your makeup including the water proof one, comes off with this.

My only concern was it did burn my eyes a bit, I have read reviews where it worked really well for removing eye makeup, but then maybe it is just me, coz all makeup removers burn my eyes a bit. And I cannot get rid of waterproof mascara and a long staying kajal with this. Even if I just let it stay on the eyes and don’t rub but if a bit of it seeps in, eyes start burning :/ Though it does not burn as much as a few other makeup removers.

The best thing about Bioderma Sensibio H2O is that,it is very gentle and mild on the skin and there is no stickiness or greasiness at all. You can just cleanse your face and let it be,without using anything else. I usually like to end with a face wash, coz I like my face to be squeaky clean 🙂

Here is the before,after..I had heavy base makeup and full on contouring done in this pic and it removed every bit of the base.

As you can see the kajal is still on the waterline and I dare not use this near the waterline, coz even while removing the mascara it burns my eyes a bit.

Overall I would say, it is the perfect makeup remover for someone with sensitive skin and/or use on a daily basis. It is mild and gentle, does not irritate the skin at all, removes 90% of the makeup. But if you are someone with very sensitive eyes like mine, be a little careful of using it near the eyes.

The 100ml bottle is slightly on the expensive side,I would recommend getting a 200ml bottle as that is more economical. But if you need something for your travel kit, you can get the 100ml one.

Kawar Dead Sea Facial Mask Review

Kawar Dead Sea Facial Mask Review

What the Company claims: Kawar dead sea facial mask
Kawar Dead Sea Facial Mask is one of the best Dead Sea cosmetics, prepared and purified mechanically. Aloe Vera, a natural ingredient, is added to keep your skin’s elasticity. This mask helps clean and open pores, and purifies and tightens the skin to feed the cells with many nutrients

Qty: 150ml
Finish: Handmade
Inspiration: Dead sea

With the increase in salinity and potash Dead Sea is not just famous for its uniqueness of not harbouring any lives but it is also known for its soil which is full of many minerals present in nature. Years and years of research have shown Dead Sea minerals to cure diseases and aches and the huge salt mixture present in the water has created a by product that does wonders to the skin

Origin: Dead Sea, Jordan

MRP: Rs.1434/-

Available HERE on Tjori.com

Ingredients:

To start with, I know the tube has a big spelling error ‘Daed Sea’ but it is all natural and manmade and I guess it is made in a smaller batch and through small time artisans for packing, etc.

The Dead Sea of Jordan is supposed to be very good for skin with all the minerals and salts present in it. The main base ingredient in this mask is the dead sea soil. It is infused with the goodness of aloe vera and clay.

Now clay helps clean and tighten pores and controls oil production on the skin. Aloe Vera of course soothes and moisturises the skin.

It comes in a tube form and is a large tube. The mask is ash grey in color and clay like in texture but is a bit runny. Even though you shake the tube well before dispensing, it is runny and you have to be careful to not get excess product which usually happens with this one.

It is smooth to apply and does not tug since it is quite runny. I keep the mask for 15-20 minutes, though it dries completely in 10 minutes.

Me with the Mask :p

And while washing off, like I do with all face masks, I scrub the skin a bit with the mask. My skin feels fresh, renewed and tight. I even saw a difference in break outs with its regular usage, though when you stop using this for a long time in between, break outs start again.

I agree it is on the expensive side, but then it is all natural and made with dead sea. And also this tube is like huge and it will last a good time.

June ‘Take Charge’ Fab Bag Review

June ‘Take Charge’ Fab Bag Review

Hi guys,

A new month and new bags and boxes start pouring in. Also the most exciting part is the unboxing, isn’t it?!

This month’s Fab Bag theme is ‘Take Charge’. It’s a deep purple loose bag which can stock a lot of things, perfect to carry along your makeup or toiletries during travel. I loved the color and material..its quite soft but sturdy and not something that would tear easily.

MRP: Rs.599/- per month (Offers on 6 months and 12 months subscription. Go HERE)

Read my previous March Fab Bag Review HERE, April one HERE and May one HERE

Let’s see what all I received in this month’s Fab Bag..

  • Cuccio Colour Nail Enamel in Shaking My Morocco- Full size (Rs.675/- for 13ml)
  • Cuccio Naturale Butter Blend- Milk & Honey- 9.24g tube (Rs.2970/- for 240g)
  • Votre Fresh Cooling Sun Protection Mist SPF25 50ml bottle (Rs.980/- for 100ml)
  • Ananda Spa Light Moisturiser For Normal to Dry Skin, small jar (I guess 8-9g) (Rs.1350/- for 50g)

Philips recently launched their new range of epilators and you guys must have seen the new Alia Bhatt ad on TV, who is their brand ambassador.

Philips had epilators before i.e. the Satinelle range which had only one epilating head, they have relaunched them with the Satinelle Essential where there is a shaving head and a sensitive area cap and comes with 2 years guarantee with just 300 bucks extra.

They have come up with 3 different types of Essential epilators, one is the basic one for basic, dry use i.e. Philips Satinelle Essential BRE200. One with shaving head which is this one i.e. Philips Satinelle Essential BRE201 and one with shaving head, for wet and dry use and with skin stretcher system i.e. Philips Satinelle Advanced BRE210.

I am reviewing the middle one today which comes with a separate shaving head. All these new Philips epilators come with a 2 year guarantee which is quite nice.

I love the white and pink color, it has a white body with pink stars over it. It has just one setting and not much to figure out and super easy to use.

It is very small and handy. It comes with two different heads, one epilation head and one shaving head, one cord to plug in, one extra cover for sensitive areas and a small cleaning brush. A 2 year year guarantee card and an instruction manual alongwith. It mentions on the box that it also carries a handy pouch which was missing, not sure if it comes with it or no.

Pictorial Steps

Since I have taken up the 30 days shaving challenge for my legs, I used the epilator on my hands. I was a bit scared but it went on pretty smooth and nice, did not hurt much. Only glitch I feel in general with epilators is you cannot really see what exact area the hair is removed or still remaining, I mean you have to wait for one complete round from top to bottom and  get rid of the stuck stray hair to find out which hair is still not removed and have to go over it again. Since all epilators have a slightly round head, the side of the skin it goes on, generally get missed. Then, I tried the shaving head which is square and it was so awesome, I fell in love with it. It was super quick and easy to work with, no going over the same area again and completes the entire area from top to bottom in one go. In short, I am going to stick to the shaving head for a long time :p

It is very easy to clean and wash too, you can either use the small brush it comes with, or remove the head and wash that under flowing water. The heads can be easily removed and inter-changed by just pushing them towards the left.

Philips is eco friendly and hence I guess,it avoids battery and works on electricity, means you will have to be corded all the time you use the epilator. A little inconvenient coz you have to find a plug, keep the area in mind and avoid the wire coming in between your epilation, and with wet use, very difficult to use in the bathroom. Though the wire is quite long and was not much of an issue.

Coming to the price, it is quite cheap compared to other epilators in the market, almost 1/3rd the price. Its available on Flipkart HERE and keep an eye for discounts and offers and you can get it much cheaper.

Definitely worth investing in, also a perfect thing to carry along if you travel a lot or plan to go on a long holiday. And it comes with a 2 year guarantee, so once purchased, you are sorted for 2 years minimum, and more so depending on your usage.
