This was a part of the Cannes 2012 L’Or Electric Collection..

They all have different names in the US like this All Night Blue is called Midnight Blue, Endless Chocolate is called Continuous Cocoa, Purple Obsession is called Perpetual Purple, Permanent Khaki called Golden Sage and so on..

Some gorgeous shades like Smoldering Plum and Golden Emerald have not been introduced in India 🙁 I dunno why always the step motherly treatment..we also deserve all those pretty colors no..

This has a silver packaging..with a see through at at the bottom..and a lid on top..and a black inner lid for the hold..

The texture is quite different than normal eye shadows..its not powdery..but a little creamy sorts..and kinda crumbly..if you get it..its super pigmented..one swipe would give you the desired pigmentation and color..

All Night Blue is a deep midnight ink blue..a gorgeous shade..you can use it alone for midnight blue smokey eyes without the black..such deep shades do not even require black for the smokey effect..If you had seen and remember the IIFA awards recently, Parineeti Chopra had a similar blue dress and eye shadow..

In Sunlight

The color is bold for sure..and not something you can wear everyday..but the tip to use it in a wearable way is to use it as a liner..you can try and use Inglot Duraline too..or just normal water..coz these are made to be used both wet and dry..and stay on amazingly well both ways..

Pros:

1. Super pigmented..you get the desired pigmentation in a single swipe.
2. Stay on for a good 7-8 hours without primer too before they start to fade a little.
3. Works both wet and dry.
4. All Night Blue is a gorgeous midnight blue shade..which looks good as a liner too.
5. These are quite economical for the quality and 3.5 g would last quite long too !
6. Available in 10 shades

Cons:

1. Packaging is not so good..if the shadow falls even once..it would crumble up.
2. There is some fall out since these are not densely packed or satiny in texture..
3. Some amazing shades are not introduced in India..

Overall I do love this..All Night Blue is a gorgeous shade..and a perfect blue to have in stash if you do not have one..

Illamasqua Sophie-I Collection Smoky Eye Technique

How To Create The Sophie I

The Sophie-I smoky eye technique allows you to not only express your individuality, but discover new depth and definition in your eyes.
Created using the black Sophie Medium Pencil, the technique is inspired by The Sophie Lancaster Foundation,
the charity Illamasqua supports, and £3 from every Sophie Pencil purchased is donated to the foundation.

STEP ONE
Sketch along the upper socket line with the creamy black Medium Pencil in Sophie. Then buff with an Illamasqua Eye Shadow Brush to create a soft, diffused line.
You can even wear this step on its own, to create a striking look in a hurry with just one product.

STEP TWO
Take a pale neutral Powder Eye Shadow (we recommend Stealth) and gently press it to the centre of the eye lid, and underneath the brow bone for subtle highlight.

STEP THREE
With a charcoal black Powder Eye Shadow (try Machine) build over the previous black pencil line, working outwards and upwards.
Then take an Illamasqua Blending Brush and blend the two Powder Eye Shadows together, ensuring there are no sharp lines.

STEP FOUR
Mix Sealing Gel with your black Powder Eye Shadow to create a colour intense, water-resistant paste. Taking a sharp Angled Eye Liner Brush apply the paste in a fine line along the upper lash line as a liquid eye liner.
Artists’ Tip: You can also use this to redefine the original Sophie Pencil line along the socket for some serious drama.

STEP FIVE
Finish the look with a line of Sophie Medium Pencil
along the lower lash line, a coating of midnight black Masquara in Raven and your favourite Illamasqua False Eye Lashes.

Favorite Soft Smokey Eyes Tutorial

Favorite Soft Smokey Eyes Tutorial

Today I am sharing with you all my favorite soft smokey eyes tutorial on youtube..its simple, easy and nice…

You just need three brushes..smudger, flat shader and blender brush. And three shades of an eyeshadow..dark, medium and light.

This also shows the proper window wiper motion blending technique and smudging black eyeliner at the base..

Very easy and wearable ! Check this..

How to get smokey eyes in 5 easy steps

How to get smokey eyes in 5 easy steps

I read this article on the Vogue website and thought of sharing with you all..very easy peasy and nice..

The classic smokey eye has come a long way from black and grey. For the warmer months, a coloured version is the fashion-forward the way to, and we love how pink is this Spring’s pretty pick. To get you started, Vogue.in teamed up with Lancome Head Makeup Artist, Stafford Braganza who broke it down to five easy steps – easy as pie!

Step 1: After prepping your eye with concealer and a dust of translucent powder, trace your upper lash line with a black eyeliner pencil. With a flat brush smudge the color for a softer look. We love the Lancome Le Crayon Khol for its soft texture and ease of use.

Step 2: Go over your waterline with the black eyeliner so your eyes look defined. Use a gel eyeliner like the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Gel Eyeliner for all day wear.

Step 3: With a fluffy blending brush, apply a black eye shadow along the outer half of your eye blending into your eye socket. Start off with a very little amount of color on the outer corner of your eye moving inwards along your crease, so the density of color reduces half way in. Remember not to pull it all the way into the inner corner or you risk creating a circle around your eye.

Step 4: Using your clean finger gently tap a pink satin or shimmer shadow onto your eyelid. Blend it into the black shadow along moving upwards and outwards. The Body Shop’s Shimmer and Sparkle Cube is great choice for this look.

Step 5 : Finish off with a healthy coating of mascara for long lush lashes. Vogue.in recommends the Lancome Virtuose Black Carat Mascara for dramatic lashes that pair very well with a smokey eye look.
And you are done 🙂
Was’nt it damn easy ?? 😉

Bourjois Khol and Contour Eye Pencil- Review and Swatches

Bourjois Khol and Contour Eye Pencils Noir Expert, Blue Virtuose- Review and SwatchesBourjois Khol and Contour eye pencils come in 8 shades. They have changed the packaging now and they write New Khol and Contour. But I think the formula would be the same as the rest of the things are still same.

What the Company claims : Intense color upto 16 hours. Enriched with pure pigments, this khol allows for an intense result from the very first stroke and lasts up to 16 hours.

Its soft and blendable formula is ideal to apply both on the inner and outer rims of the eye.
Hypoallergenic, with natural wax and vitamin E, it is gentle on the delicate eye contour area.
Intense color in just 1 stroke.
Comfort and hold.
High tolerance. Ophthamologically tested on sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

Qty : 1.14 gm

MRP- Rs 220/-

I have 2 of these in 72 Noir Expert (Black) and 81 Blue Virtuose (Navy Blue)

The Noir Expert has not been mentioned on the site and there is some other black shade which were not there on the counters.

The other shades available are :

71 Ultra Black
73 Gris Ingenieux (Grey)
75 Prune Moderne (Purple plum kind)
78 Brune design (Brown)
79 Bronze Raffine (Brownish Bronze)
80 Vert Expressif (Dark Forest Green)

Here are the swatches :

L- Blue Virtuose R- Noir Expert

Pros :

1. They are pocket friendly..not very expensive.

2. The shades are all nice and dark.

3. They are tested to be suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

4. They are waterline safe and do no irritate eyes.

5. They are made in Czech Republic.

6. This makes lining my upper lashline very easy.

7. They do not tug and glide on easily.

8. They do last long on my upper lashline.

9. These are blendable and can be smudged and used as eye shadows.

10.They sharpen easily and there is no much waste of product.

11.They are in pencil form so you can sharpen them and keep away from microbes for those who are more towards hygiene and don’t prefer mechanical pencils.

12.They are travel friendly.

13.They come off with a normal cleanser.

Cons :

1. They smudge a lot when used on the lower lashline but then they never claimed to be smudge proof or water proof.

2. They do not last 16 hours as claimed !! But ya these last 5-6 hours normally but less on the waterline and the Blue Virtuose smudges horribly when used on lower lashline.

Overall rating : 3.5/5

Would I buy it again- Yes ..love it for my upper lashline. I find it convenient, quick and easy as I have shaky hands and take more time with liquid liners.Plus I can carry this along with me if I need to.

Do you have these ? How is your experience ?
