I am loving the colors, both the J.Cat Queen of Hearts Lip Paint and Starlooks lilac crayon are super unique and amazing. The Starlooks crayon shade is pretty similar to Aishwarya Rai Cannes lilac shade 😀 J.Cat is a dupe of OCC Lip tars and I can’t wait to try out this shade. It’s perfect for fall.

Even the Model’s Co. Lip liner is perfect for outlining and defining the lips.

Starlooks December 2015 Extraordinaire Kit Review, Products

Hi guys,

You have seen previous Starlooks Looksbook Mini Kits on my blog, I have also done a video with the September kit.

This time for the last month of the year and being a party season, the theme was ‘Extraordinaire- You’re A Star’. Also the products were 6 instead of the usual 3 and all are pretty amazing and perfect for the party season.

Talking about the products I received in the December box, and mind you all are 3/4th of the full sized products which is amazing!

Products:

  • Party Mascara Glitter Gel- It’s a metallic rose gold mascara which can be used on the tips of the lashes for a party look or even on the eyebrows as the glitter/metallic eyebrows trend is quite IN right now
  • Presence Eye Liner- It’s a shimmery champagne colored eye pencil which will work as a highlight under the brow bone, in the inner corners or even on the waterline. I love using this on my waterline and it did not irritate my eyes.
  • BYOB(eauty) Lip Gloss- Again a beautiful, shimmery rose gold lip gloss. It is non sticky, pigmented and perfect. The size is perfect for handbags.
  • Darling Blush- A shimmery, super pigmented copper red blush. It can double up as an eyeshadow.
  • Century Metallic Cream Eye Shadow- My favourite in this kit, it’s a shimmery metallic grey cream eyeshadow. It does crease and needs a primer and shadow on top.
  • Pure Lip Gloss- This is very unique, a super pale lip gloss which has a hint of lavender and it looks lavender on the lips. Quite a different color.

All the 6 products are super interesting and unique and not something I have in my stash, I love how Starlooks always comes up with new stuff and a new theme every month. I definitely recommend the Starlooks subscription as getting 3-5 products every month which are 3/4th the size and at $12 is quite a steal, also like this month, you may get 6 products at times 😀

The value of the products in this month’s box are $72 which you can get for $12 if subscribed or if you want to buy just this month, it’s still $29.

Makeup Tutorial: Fall/Winter Smokey Eyes | Indian Skin Tone

Hi guys,

I created this deep green/burgundy matte smokey eyes which is fall appropriate using the Starlooks September Revival Kit. Though it has matte bright pink lipstick, I would pair this smokey eyes with a deep wine/burgundy fall/winter lip color 🙂

I love the idea of Starlooks having small, travel-sized products coz no one can finish their entire eye shadows and blushes, I can’t even finish lipsticks with the number I have! I absolutely loved the matte shadows and the matte lipstick. The eye shadow duo is perfect for fall and hence I created this fall, smokey look. Though the pigmentation is slightly low and you have to go over with the eye shadow 2-3 times. And it has deep teal green mini mascara which looks almost black though.

Starlooks Revival September 2015 Looksbook Mini Kit contains:

* Rawr Lipstick : A bold matte hot pink shade. But it might need a dash of lip balm beneath else it may end up looking a bit dry. My favourite in the palette, love this. Decently pigmented and completely matte

* Agave Eye Shadow duo: A mini matte eyeshadow duo, it features a red agave & green agave shade. Both are earthy shades, leaning towards an olive green and a burgundy. Since these are matte, they are not very pigmented and required me layer and go over my shadows 2-3 times, but they definitely gave a nice matte smokey look

* Flora Mascara: A deep teal mascara which looks almost black, love the brush, it gave nice volume to the lashes and did not clump much.

The eye shadow duo is very fall appropriate, I would have loved if the lipstick would have been a deep matte plum, the kit would be a perfect fall kit then. Though I love the lipstick, plum shade would have worked very well this eyeshadow duo.

So I received the August Looksbook Mini box a few days ago coz of the Indian post, but anyhoo I came up with this look with the box.

In the Resort Edition, there is a cream water colour eyeshadow, an gold-orange blush and a gold highlighter duo and a pale peach mini lipstick.

The eyeshadow is creamy and blends easily with eyes but it sets super quick and it was a little difficult to blend it quickly, but once set, it doesn’t budge. It’s a light moss green shade with loads of glitter, it shows up like a hint of green with just lots of shimmer. It’s a perfect shade for highlighting the inner corners.

The blush and the highlighter duo are my favourites, love the golden orange blush and it looks beautiful on warmer skin tones like ours, also the gold highlighter is very pretty and perfect for Indian weddings or a night time look.

The lipstick is very light and washes me out completely, it will only work on paler skin tones. I had to use a warmer, brighter orange to balance the color.

I think it’s a nice concept of having travel sized or mini makeup products in a kit, I totally agree on not being able to finish up makeup products. This blush-highlighter duo will definitely be a part of my travel kit now onwards. And at $12 monthly, it is pretty reasonable for 3 products.
