Sleek MakeUP Eye & Cheek Palette Review, Swatches

Sleek MakeUP Eye & Cheek Palette Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Multi-functional palette contains four eyeshadows and two blushers from our bestselling i-Divine and Blush range. Eye & Cheek Palette provides all of your colour essentials in one convenient compact.

These velvety smooth eyeshadows and blushers are highly pigmented and long-lasting, making blending and defining simple.

Dancing Til Dusk includes velvety browns and shimmering fawns from our Au Naturel i-Divine palette. With radiant Blush shades Mirrored Pink, an iridescent soft pink and Sahara, a matte, dark coral, for a sophisticated finish.

How to: Eyeshadow: Use the mini eyeshadow applicator to sweep the lighter shades all over the eye lid. Blend well, as this acts as a base for deeper shades. Then apply the medium or dark shades across the crease to define eyes

Blush: Using the mini blusher brush included, sweep onto the apples of the cheeks

Comes in 2 variants- Dancing Till Dusk and See You At Midnight

MRP: $14.99

Dancing Till Dusk is the one I am reviewing today. It is more on the warm side while See You At Midnight is more on the cooler side.

Dancing Till Dusk has the blushes Mirrored Pink and Sahara and the eyeshadows from the Au Naturel Palette.

See You at Midnight combines deep blue and pearlescent purple eyeshadows from our Vintage Romance i-Divine Palette. Along with Blush in Pomegranate, a golden berry hue and Antique,a shimmery dusky rose, for a captivating look.

It comes in a small rectangular black packaging and has a mirror and a small double sided applicator and a small brush.

Shades:

Eyeshadows:

Satin finish champagne shade (Beautiful!)

Matte taupe (For the crease)

Matte beige n*de (Almost skin color, perfect for blending and brow bone)

Medium brown with gold shimmer

Blushes:

Mirrored Pink – A soft, romantic satin finish bright pink. Very bridal for fair skin tones.

Sahara: Matte peachy coral. Super pretty on warm skin tones <3

I would recommend See You At Midnight for darker/deeper skin tones coz the shades would show up on them well and Dancing Till Dusk for both but especially for warm skin tones. I am glad I got the Dancing Till Dusk coz I am totally a warm person and love neutrals/warms in eye shadows and peachy, natural blushes. Also, warm shades look beautiful on our Indian skin tones.

Its a perfect daytime palette with a brown, taupe, champagne, a shade for blending and a nice peach blush. Mirrored Pink looks a little bright though but looks nice when blended if you want to turn a day time look to a night time look. Its travel friendly and carry one and you are sorted kind of a palette. Highly recommended!

Ok, so if you follow me on my facebook, twitter or Instagram, you would know how I and my fellow blogger friend Dollie from Indian Shringar selected this shade Blazing Blue to be a part of Color Show Bright Sparks range. Similarly there were few other bloggers who selected these 7 shades.

After the Maybelline Glitter Mania launch, we did this secret activity to select the shades for this new Bright Sparks range which was supposed to be the festive cum autumn/winter range.

I like the fact that a brand includes us bloggers to be a part of their collections and launches in some or the other way. Feels good to be a part of this launch.

I got this shade which we selected along with these 5-6 pics (shown above) from the event which were clicked while we were selecting the shades.

Coming to this shade 706 Blazing Blue, its a bright ink blue which instantly brightens your hands and make your hands look pretty.

The texture, brush, etc is all exactly like the Maybelline Color Show range. I would say the only issue is, it started chipping from the tips in 1-2 days but not too much.

Overall, I love the brush and the smoothness, the price and the shades. Pretty pigmented and in 2 coats, you are sorted.

Rating: 4.25/5

I so want to try the Burnished Gold, Firewood Brown and Spark of Steel! They sound amazing.

Also, I would be giving away 10 of these Blazing Blue to 10 of you!! So, stay tuned for the contest and the hashtag #BlazeOfPassion.

Illamasqua Vintage Metallix in Bibelot, Courtier Review, Swatches

Illamasqua Vintage Metallix in Bibelot, Courtier Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Vintage Metallix eyeshadow provides a metallic cream-gel texture that provides long wear and comfort. Smudge resistant and long lasting formula. Apply with your fingers or an Illamasqua brush.

A long lasting, metallic cream-gel texture, with a smudge resistant finish.

Key Benefits:
1. Intense metallic finish.
2. Smudge resistant.
3. Maximum long wear.

Application: Apply using fingers or an Illamasqua brush

MRP: £16.50 for 5ml (Approx Rs.1620/-)

Illamasqua Vintage Metallix is a part of their ‘Once’ collection. A set of three cream-gel eye shadows were launched as a part of this range: Bibelot (Vintage Green), Courtier (Vintage N*de) and Embellish (Vintage Brown)

I love cream eye shadows, they are easy to apply and blend and takes just a minute or so for that perfect blended look. I can use it anywhere and everywhere, even when I am travelling and I do not need to carry palettes or brushes. Plus I am mostly always in a rush, so cream shadows come to my handy. I also the Maybelline Color Tattoos for the same reason.

And when I got these, I was pretty excited to try them.

Today I am reviewing the shades Bibelot and Courtier. These come in a simple glass packaging with a golden cap and the Illamasqua symbol embossed on it. The mouth is wide enough to get the product on your fingers.

These are super duper creamy and blend easily, can even be layered quickly. It takes a minute for them to set, and once set, they don’t budge at all! They have stayed put whole day with minimal fading.

Bibelot is a gorgeous forest green with gold shimmer.

Courtier is a frosty n*de pink with silver shimmer.

Unblended

Courtier is a shade one can use in daytime or for everyday formal wear with just a winged liner. Looks super classy, giving just a hint of shimmer.

Bibelot is the perfect fall/winter shade. One can create beautiful 2 minute green smokey eyes with it. Also, its a nice shade for Indian wear.

Overall, I loved them. I would love to try Embellish too, coz I cant have enough of browns 😀 But if I have to recommend one, I would suggest Bibelot. Its a must have <3

Blended

They are definitely slightly on the expensive side, but with MAC Paint pots’ increased pricing at Rs.1500/-, they are almost the same, with Illamasqua offering slightly more qty but texture wise, Illamasqua are much more creamy and easy to use, where as MAC Paint Pots dry up quickly and are not as creamy as these.

Only issue with Illamasqua is availability. You need to buy it online from their site HERE.

Revlon Highlighting Palette Bronze Glow Review, Swatches

Revlon Highlighting Palette Bronze Glow Review, Swatches

Remember I mentioned about Revlon’s new Cheek Boutique i.e the new Powder Blushes and Highlighting Palette HERE.

I was one of the winners of Revlon’s Travel look contest and got the highlighting palette Bronze Glow too as a part of the prize. Though the poor thing got completely smashed in the courier.

What the Company claims: Revlon Highlighting Palette for an all over sun kissed glow. Complimentary shimmer shades blend to enhance the complexion for a radiant sun kissed look.
Enhances and illuminates the complexion
Gives a multi-dimensional sculpted look
Easy to blend, buildable color

MRP: Rs.950/- for 7.5g

Shades Available: Rose Glow, Bronze Glow, Peach Glow (I love the Bronze the most)

This is how it looked after some cleaning.

Almost like those Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks and The Body Shop highlighters, but less shimmery. I like my highlighters less shimmery, we aint no shiny disco balls :p

Though it does look a little too shimmery in the pan, but upon swatching, it comes out a beautiful rosy bronze. It has 5 strips, one is white, and the other 4 are shades of bronze, copper, pink bronze and pink copper. So all blended together, it gives our a nice bronze with a pink sheen which looks beautiful on our warm skin tones.

Top- Individual, Bottom- Blended

Though if you are on the lighter side, I would recommend checking out Rose Glow and Peach Glow. But for medium Indian skin tones, Bronze Glow is just perfect.

It stays on for 6-7 hours and slowly fades but does not go away completely. Also works for highlighting the brow bone and inner corners of the eyes. I use it on the bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow too for that little pout effect.

Its pigmented and buildable, easy to use coz you can build it slowly, won’t make you look funny even if you are new to highlighters and blushes.

Though its on the expensive side, it does offer good quantity and quality. I would have liked it to be priced around Rs.750-800/-. Sadly wee do not have good highlighters available in India, so if you are looking for a good highlighter from an Indian brand and that is easily available, this is one of the few options.

I did expect better and sturdier packaging though, this is not at all travel friendly. You can see the condition of the smashed palette.

Overall, I do like it and recommend it. I love highlighters and this is one of my current favourites.

Rating: 3.75/5 (-0.25 for the packaging)

Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Liner Vine Yard Review, Swatches

Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Liner Vine Yard Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Soft gel texture, easy to a apply with a small brush attached with cap.

KEY FEATURES:

Professional finish gel liner
Very intense, vibrant color
Smudge proof and water proof
Long lasting formula
Recommended by Lakmé’s makeup experts

MRP: Rs.800/- for 2.3g

Shades Available:

  • Must Have (Black)
  • Deep Sea
  • Tempting Teal
  • Metallic Bronze
  • Grey Ash
  • White Delight
  • Vine Yard

Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Liners are a new launch in the Lakme Absolute range and were a part of the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014 Collection designed by the bridal team of Cory Walia and Manish Malhotra.

Available in 7 shades, they come in a small cute tub form with an extended handle and a brush within the handle. No need to carry a separate brush now. (or worry about loosing it/misplacing which happens most of the time :p)

Texture wise, its more like a mousse. Very very creamy and super light. It will get digged in with just a single dip of the brush. It goes on smooth too. Very long lasting and smudge proof, even the swatch on my hand did not budge. You will need a good makeup remover to remove this completely.

It stays on for a good 7-8 hours, and then starts fading in bits, but does not go away completely.

My only issue was the shade. This particular shade Vine Yard needed layering. I have to go over it 2-3 times for the eyeliner to show up, on my eyes, as it waters down a little, when applied on the eyes.

I have seen the swatches of all the shades and that’s not the case with all the shades. Most of them are pretty pigmented and bright and show up on the eyes in one swipe. I think its only Vine Yard and probably Grey Ash that needs layering.

The shade Vine Yard looks more purple in the tub, but it comes up as a bluish purple with gold shimmer.

Must Have (Black), Bronze, Teal and Deep Sea are the most pigmented. I loved the bronze, it looks gorgeous. Definitely trying that next.

Its slightly over priced too, like all other products in the Lakme Absolute range. I feel it could have been priced at around Rs.600-650/- max.

Overall, its super creamy in texture, easy to use and long staying. Other shades in this range are super pigmented too. Recommended.

Provides light to medium, buildable coverage
Conceals blemishes and imperfections
Innovative formula evens out skin tone
Advanced moisturising properties help to keep skin nourished

Instantly enhances and illuminates skin

MRP: $13.49 for 30ml

Directions: Blend smoothly and evenly with your fingertips or a foundation brush, working outwards from the centre of your face.

Ingredients: Paraffin oil, Isooctyl palmitate, Isododecane, Beeswax, Sorbitan sesquioleate, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 dimethicone, Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium stearate, Dimethicone, Sodium chloride, Iron OxidesCI77491,77492,77499, Phenoxyethanol, Methylistohiazolinone

Shades Available: 12

I have the shades Barley and Praline.

It comes in a glass square bottle packaging with a black cap and a black pump dispensor. Since it is glass, not very travel friendly and slightly heavy too.

I like the fact that it comes in 12 shades and cater to every skin tone possible from lightest to darkest. Its thick and creamy unlike your runny liquid foundation.

It gives medium coverage, even though buildable, wont give that complete flawless coverage hiding your marks/scars. Its good for everyday use, like a tinted moisturiser. And gives that dewy, glowing finish. It stays for 3-4 hours and then starts getting shiny on the T-zone since its quite rich. Oily/combination skin needs powder touch up after 3-4 hours.

Barley is  light for me and Praline is dark, so I mix the both and get the perfect shade.I think Bamboo or Creme Caramel would suit my NC37 skin tone well.

Here it is on me. I have mixed both the shades here.

I would recommend this for people with dry skin looking for a dewy finish foundation and those who do not need much coverage.

Another Limited Edition i-Divine Palette from Sleek MakeUP. This time its all about bright shades, for this is inspired by Brazil’s Rio Carnival!

It has the same standard Sleek MakeUP i-Divine palettes packaging and comes with a mirror and a two-sided sponge applicator.

Though I am not a fan of brights, this palette has some beautiful warms and n*des too!

The matte shades in Sleek MakeUP i-Divines were always a little powdery. But all the shades in this palette including the mattes are super bright, smooth and pigmented!

I could’nt believe the pigmentation these had. All the swatches are just one swipe.

Top Row:

Tropics: Matte bright coral orange

Night Fever: Matte bright reddish pink

Ipanema: Satin Plum with gold shimmer

Caipirinha: Metallic lime green

Urca: Beautiful satin finish muted light gold. My favorite <3

Leblon: Deep Matte Jet Black. Most pigmented black in a palette!

Bottom Row:

Cachaca: Metallic white

City of God: Metallic bright yellow

Copacabana: Satin finish beige n*de with gold shimmer

Sao Conrado: Matte carrot pink

Bossa Nova: Beautiful satin finish bluish purple. Another favorite <3

Leme: Gorgeous satin deep blue. Perfect for blue smokey eyes.

Overall, I would say, this is by far the most pigmented Sleek MakeUP i-Divine palette. If you are into brights, grab it right now before the stocks get over since its a limited edition. And even if you are not into brights like me, 5-6 shades are such that are super versatile, pigmented, warm, wearable and match up/blend with everything.

Maybelline InstaGlam Box Celebration of Bonds in Pink Review, FOTD

Maybelline InstaGlam Box Celebration of Bonds in Pink Review, FOTD

Maybelline India always launches a new InstaGlam box on various occasions. Check these:

Now this time they have come up with an Instaglam box for the Rakhi season to celebrate the special ‘brother-sister’ bond called the ‘Celebration of Bonds’ box.

Shades Available: Pink, Coral, Red

MRP: Rs.750/- (with products worth Rs.895/-)

Its a box with your basic essentials which are:

A dash of kajal, liner and lip gloss is what all of us use even on a regular basis. And the latest Glitter Mania nail paints were the perfect thing to add in the box ! An hint of bling completes the celebration box.

Colossal Kajal is a classic, a good glossy liquid liner is another must have. I absolutely love the High Shine Lip Gloss range, one of the best in India. And Glitter Mania nail enamels are again an hit.  The shade in this box ‘Pink Champagne’ is by far an universal favorite and I believe the widely sold too 😀

I think its a box all girls can use, coz not many use blush/mascara but a kajal or lip gloss is what every girl would use/carry along in her bag 😀

It makes a perfect gift, not only for sisters but also your girlfriends 😉 Nah, for any girl actually.

I highly recommend it. One good, value for money, must have box. Not only for yourself, but also to gift someone. At 750 bucks, makes quite an economical gift too 🙂

I did an FOTD with the kajal, lip gloss and eyeliner (created a winged eyeliner).

You can buy it from Snapdeal HERE.

  • Orange Candy
  • Bare Beige
  • Candy Pink
  • Pink Temptation
  • Berry Rose
  • Very Berry
  • Desert Rose

MRP: Rs. 800/- for 4ml

I am reviewing the shades Red Delight and Desert Rose today.

At first, many would be confused about the name which says ‘Gloss Addict’ and it is actually a lipstick. The range is called Gloss Addicts and the Lipsticks are a part of this range. These are basically high shine glossy pigmented lipsticks.

They come in a pretty silver packaging with a see through cap. The base is  strong enough, so no fear of breakage as seen in a few lipsticks recently.

It is super glossy and moisturizing. Well pigmented and 2 strokes give you a full opaque color. It stays for 2-3 hours and leaves behind a soft tint and reapplying is easy too. You can apply it on the go, unlike  a few matte lipsticks which need to be applied properly with patience.

Only issue is does not stay that long and might not cover pigmented lips completely especially the lighter shades like Desert Rose here.

L- Red Delight, R- Desert Rose,

Red Delight is a pinkish red shade with some fine shimmer. This shade would work on all skin tones. And it is one easy to carry red. If you are just starting with reds and don’t want to jump on the bold reds, this lipstick is for you. It brightens the face instantly.

U- Desert Rose, D- Red Delight

Desert Rose is a light rosy pink shade. Would suit medium to fair skin tones. It gives a fresh look to the face and is a good shade for daily wear. But not meant for pigmented lips, as won’t show up much.

And here are these on moi..

L- Red Delight, R- Desert Rose

Pros:

1. Super glossy.

2. Pigmented.

3. Very hydrating.

4. Comes in 15 rich shades and has all pinks, nudes, reds, corals, etc

5. Travel friendly.

6. Easy to use on the go.

Cons:

1. Expensive and the qty is less too.

2. Lighter shades won’t show up on pigmented lips.

Overall, I would say these are good for someone who loves glossy lipsticks. I do. Also these are so easy to use, you can just carry one along and apply it in the car, cab, auto, etc. Very pigmented and hydrating and come in an array of 15 pretty, fresh, wearable shades.

My other favorites are Berry Rose, Plum Perfect (perfect plummy pink) and Orange Candy (a very wearable coral orange).

Sleek MakeUP Del Mar Volume-I i-Divine Palette Review, Swatches

Sleek MakeUP Del Mar Volume-I i-Divine Palette Review, Swatches

So after the amazing Sleek MakeUP CC cream, time to review the latest Limited Edition palette added to the i-Divine Range- Del Mar Volume-I

What the Company claims: Create stunning eye makeup with 12 shades of super pigmented eye shadow. i-Divine palettes are suitable for all skin tones adding a touch of stylish sophistication to take you from day to night. Each palette includes a matte dark colour, ideal for definition or perfecting that classic smoky effect.

Get your summer off to a scorching start with our limited edition* Del Mar Volume 1 i-Divine palette. Each shade is inspired by the tranquil, calm feel of Ibiza’s chilled out atmosphere, with soft coral oranges of the sunset, deep aqua blues of the sea and sublime greens of the picturesque view.

  • This brilliant eyeshadow palette of vibrant colours suits all skin tones and complements the bright pastel trend prominent this Spring/Summer 2014
  • The exclusive packaging captures the essence of the warm sun and mellow Balearic beats floating into the breeze

MRP: $11.99

How to: Get creative and blend contrasting colours together or mix shimmers with matte shades. Each i-Divine includes a classic matte dark colour, great to perfect that classic smoky effect.

Shades:

1st row:

  • Lounge Lovers– Satin finish n*de gold
  • Poolside– Matte Sea Blue
  • Sunset Strip– Matte wearable warm orange
  • Ambience– Satin finish purple
  • Chilled out blue– Matte white
  • Marlin– Matte Teal Green

2nd row:

  • Opening Party– Satin finish bluish purple
  • On the Rocks– Satin finish coral
  • Talamanca– Matte n*de brown (for blending and transitioning colors)
  • Feel Euphoric– Satin finish peachy pink
  • Baleric Beat– Matte Lime Green
  • Paradise– Matte Lilac

There are more matte shades in this palette..and though they look bright in the pan, they are quite wearable and easy to carry shades. Also, not all mattes are chalky and some are very decently pigmented, but some have to be packed on quiet a few times for the desired intensity.

Its a nice blend of colors, and perfect pool party/beach holiday palette. And appropriate for the Summer launch too. I do like peaches and corals and they look pretty good when combined with the right colors. I would not say this palette is a must have, but if you love summery bright colors, then it can be a good addition to your stash !
