Kiehl’s BB Cream Launch Photos, Swatches

Kiehl’s  Actively Correcting & Beautifying  BB Cream Launch Photos, Swatches

I was invited for the launch of Kiehl’s new BB Cream on Saturday at the Phoenix Market City store and it was my bhabhi’s baby shower yesterday..so has been busy from the past two days..

Finally a BB Cream launched in India..that is actually a true BB Cream..and has the properties of one..

Kiehl’s Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream
More than a BB Cream.
Instantly perfects.
Visibly corrects the appearance of skin tone irregularities with daily use.
With SPF 50 PA+++
Available in 3 shades: Fair, Light & Natural.

MRP: Rs.3200/- for 30ml

Active Ingredients in it are Vitamin C, Glycerin and Natural pigments..

Mr. Anurag Tyagi, the Brand Manager of Kiehl’s gave a detailed presentation on Kiehl’s and the BB Cream..

I tried all three shades..here are the swatches of Fair, Light and Natural..

I was confused between Light and Natural..as both are quiet similar..but I was suggested Light by their KCR after testing..and so went for it..

I did try it at the store..and loved the coverage..better than most tinted moisturisers..and SPF 50 PA+++ which is amazingg..plus the Vitamin C ! I would surely review it in the coming days after testing it well..

Are you excited about the Kiehl’s BB Cream Launch ?

Its a pen style liner..with a super duper fine tip..rich, dark, jet black…and such fine controlled precision..I am soooo loving it..does’nt this sum up the whole review ? 😉

Instructions:

It lets you easily line the eyes in any style..be it thin, thick, winged, thicker winged…you name it..and you can do it..its the easiest liner possible even for a total newbie..or a person with shaky hands..with the amount of precision it gives..you just cannot go wrong..

And its jet black and pigmented..and gives rich color in one swipe..no need to go over again and again..as with some sheer liners..

Stays whole day without budging even on oily lids ! And its waterproof !

I have done a thin and a thick winged liner here with it..

10. Travel friendly..easy to carry around..the cap shuts tight.

Cons:

Yess..this eyeliner has no cons at all..I could not think of any…I so lovee it..its like an answer to every girl’s eyeliner problem ! I so so love it..highly recommend it..I only wish now Maybelline does not increase its price anytime soon :/

MRP: $36

Shades include: In The Buff (matte ivory), Pillow Talk (light taupe sheen), Like A Virgin (matte taupe), Birthday Suit (beige shimmer), Satin Sheets (golden champagne shimmer), Unmentionables (steel gray shimmer), Pink Cheeks (pale pink), Lap Dance (silvery taupe shimmer), and Stiletto (matte black).

Size: 3 x 0.07 oz eye shadows/ 6 x 0.03 oz eye shadows

I liked the Natural but it had more shimmery shades..and I have enough warm shades..so went in for Naked..though I was tempted by the Smokey Palette but the fact being that I use neutrals more I resisted somehow 😀

Comes with a two sided brush..an angled liner on one side and a sponge tip applicator on other..a more useful brush would have been better..

It is quite portable and handy..they changed the bulky design which had a brush inside the compartment before..this is quite light..easy to carry..

T-B: In the Buff, Pillow Talk, Like a Virgin
T-B: Birthday Suit, Satin Sheets, Unmentionables
T-B: Pink Cheeks, Lap Dance, Stilleto

Some shades are nicely pigmented..like the taupe and black..the lighter matte shades lack pigmentation..I love the combo of colors here..and how all three shades are in order for three different looks..each highlight and crease shade look good with each other..

These are quite smooth and silky in texture and blends well..no fall out issue..stay well for 4-5 hours and all day long with the Too Faced Shadow Insurance..this thing is magic..review coming soon !

I did the Classic look here..

I love the packaging and design and combo of shades in all Too Faced Palettes..

I only wish it was more widely and easily available and few shades were more pigmented..and also the base gets stained and does not clean up easily.. 🙁 Spoils the whole look..

Available on Too Faced site HERE or Apothica HERE

This palette is perfect for those who love cool toned neutral shadows..or something for work wear..surely recommend it..

Illamasqua Lipstick Immodest Review, Swatches

Illamasqua Lipstick Immodest Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Let your lips speak volumes. Indulge in colour-intense lipstick with a highly pigmented formula, available in a choice of flawless finishes, from creamy matt to iridescent finishes. Illamasqua Lipstick glides on smoothly and doesn’t give up without a fight for the perfect all-night pout. A must have for professional make-up artists, and those who want to make a statement.

NET WT. 4g 0.14 OZ.
price per 10g £40.00

MRP: £16.00 (Approx Rs.1320/-)

Artist Tips: This formulation provides immediate intense pay off from the initial stroke and it can also be applied lightly as a lip stain that wears all day. Apply with an Angled Eye Liner Brush for a super sharp cupid’s bow.

Immodest is from the latest Illamasqua Spring ’13 Collection I’mPerfection..

It comes in a classic black packaging..with an Illamasqua edge on the ends..

Illamasqua website describes it as Vivid Pink, matt finish..its a true matte finish indeed..

I was surprised at the color at first..coz its a bright cool toned barbie pink..and  I thought it would not suit me..even after the hand swatch..but once applied on lips..it actually looked good and brightened the whole face..it did not wash me out as I expected it to..as generally barbie pink lipsticks do on warmer skin tones..

Quite similar to MAC Silly lipstick..which is an LE..yet to be launched in India..

This shade after seeing a lot of swatches and LOTD’s, I realise is a universally flattering shade..and would look equally good on both fair, medium and dusky skin tones..don’t go by the look of it..

T: 2 swipes, B: 1 swipe

Formula being a powdery matte finish..is very drying..and needs properly scrubbed and well moisturised lips..it does settle into fine lines..and is very unforgiving..not for those with dry lips..

Please excuse my messy hair and no makeup face..I was just playing around with the lipstick..and thought a lip swatch would not do justice to this color..and show as how it actually looks..

Topped with Revlon Colorburst Fuchsia

I wore it as it is…and topped with Revlon Colorburst Fuchsia..a brighter creamier hot pink..I loved the effect..and the color stayed longer too..

Pros:

1. Universally flattering shade.
2. Quite pigmented..two swipes gives fully opaque coverage.
3. Classy packaging.
4. Travel friendly.
5. Lasts for 4-5 hours.
6. Does not tug or pull like normal matte finish.

Cons:

1. Stains unevenly.
2. Quite drying and unforgiving..needs moisturised lips.
3. Not available here..you can buy it online HERE
4. Expensive.

Overall I would say its a perfect matte pink lipstick to have in your stash..I do not have any such shade in my stash..just as a girl needs a matte red like Ruby Woo, she also needs a matte pink..is’nt it ? 😉 Highly recommended.

Maybelline Hyper Glossy Runway Pop Liquid Liner Review, Swatches

Maybelline Hyper Glossy Runway Pop Liquid Liner Tangerine Orange Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: It’s hot off the runway… and guess what? It’s easy to wear every day.

Dare to wear the glossiest vinyl line in the latest fashion shades this season!

Available in 3 shades: Tangerine Orange, Khaki and Teal Blue

MRP: Rs.350/- for 3g

Maybelline Hyper Glossy Black Liquid Liner is already quite a hit all over the blogosphere..now they are back with colored Hyper Glossy Liquid Liners !

They have the same black packaging..but with a colored edge and POP written on the handle..

The brush is normal liquid one..I would have preferred felt tip..but actually this brush is quite nice too and works well..

T:2-3 swipes, B: 1 swipe

Tangerine Orange is a bright metallic orange with gold shimmer.

It is not a shade one wears in day to day life obviously..in fact its the first time I came across an orange eyeliner..but quite apt for the spring ! When paired with some contrasting eye shadows, would look pretty good..It claims to be water proof and smudge proof..water proof it is not..and stays for 4-5 hours..and then starts flaking off…

And I am not too happy with the color getting on my lashes too 🙁 Coz orange becomes too obvious on the lashes.

Here is it on me..

Pros:

1. Long sleek handle…quite easy to use.
2. Brush is nice and sleek.
3. Travel friendly.
4. Economical.
5. Gives full opaque coverage in two swipes.
6. Nice glossy finish.
7. Perfect spring shade..no other brand in India has an orange eyeliner.

Cons:

1. Is not water proof as claimed.
2. Flakes off after 4-5 hours.
3. Gets on lashes.

Overall I do like this opaque formula..and nice sleek brush..and the glossy finish it gives..plus offers some amazing shades..I surely want to check out Khaki..I am a huge khaki fan..only wished it lasted more and did not flake off..I surely recommend this if you into bright colored liners..

MAC Blushette Bound for Love Review, Swatches

MAC Surf Baby Blushette Bound for Love Review, Swatches

MAC Blushettes were a part of the Surf, Baby! Collection..Bound for Love and Barbara Ann were the two shades launched in the collection..

MRP: $21.50 ($18.50 on sale) for 4.2g. Available HERE

It comes in a small swivel twist up tube packaging..like the Lakme Cheek Artist from the Fantasy Collection.

It has a black holder cap on top..so the product does not spread or melt inside..

Barbara Ann is a bright coral orange..looks gorgeous.

Bound for Love is a warm rosey mauve pink with subtle silver shimmer..it gives a natural flush to the cheeks..a soft rosy sheen..can be worn everyday and does not look OTT..

Unblended, Blended

But the shade is a little sheer and needs a few swipes for the color to show up..and staying power is also average..stays for 3-4 hours and then starts fading..

Pros:

1. Easy swivel up stick…comfortable to carry too.
2. Warm mauve pink..would suit medium to fair skintones..gives a nice natural flush to the cheeks.
3. Pretty packaging.
4. Does not look OTT.

Cons:

1. Staying power is average.
2. Shade needs a few swipes to show up.
3. Availability is an issue..and this was LE…available on Brigette’s Boutique though..

Overall I quite like these cream blush stick concept..those are quite easy to carry and use..and this shade gives a natural rosy flush to the cheeks with subtle sheen..perfect for office or everyday use…

Rating:

Quality: 3.75/5
Value for money: 3.5/5

Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel 74 Review, Swatches

Inglot Matte Collection AMC Eyeliner Gel 74 Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: High intensity pigments provide ideal coverage and rich colors after just one application. The Creamy and delicate long lasting formula dries in 60 seconds to a water, smudge and crease proof finish.

MRP: Rs.680/- for 5.5g

Ingredients:

It comes in a small flat plastic tub packaging with a black cap..has no brush along. Its a cream based eyeliner and not gel based..so its opaque, matte and super creamy..sets super fast and stays on for a good 6-7 hours without budging..it does flake off at times after that..

74 is a gorgeous eggplant plum shade..I love plums..so this shade is more of a weakness for me 😀 I fell for it, the moment I saw it..

Pros:

1. Gorgeous color.
2. Has a super creamy texture and glides well especially on oily lids.
3. 5.5g is a good qty.
4. Inglot is cruelty free.
5. Can be used as an all over base too.
6. Cheaper in price and more in qty than MAC Fluidlines which cost around Rs.1000/- for 3g and L’oreal Super Liner which cost Rs.825/- for 2.8g

Cons:

1. Dries super fast..you need Inglot Duraline to revive its creaminess.
2. It should come with its own brush.

Overall I do love the gorgeous shade..but I am not a fan of cream liners..somehow I find it difficult to work with cream liners..so gel liners for me..But if you are comfortable with cream liners, you should definitely get this shade !

Rating:

Quality: 3.75/5

It would be available on the Sleek website from 10th April,2013.

MRP: £7.99

When I first saw the names of the shadows, I was kinda surprised..what they have done is..they took one shade from each of their 12 permanent i- Divine palettes..and named them after the palette..

So we have Storm, Paraguaya, Oh So Special, Bad Girl, etc..

Its a standard Sleek MakeUP Palette black packaging..with 12 shadows of 1.1g each and a mirror and a double sided sponge applicator..

Shadows are a mix of matte and satin finish..matte ones being not as pigmented as the satin ones..but the shades sure are amazing..stay on well..and blend smoothly too..

Paraguaya is a matte nude peach..hardly visible..good for blending
Sunset is satin finish burgundy
Me, Myself & Eye is a frost finish white..works great as a highlighter
Bad Girl is satin finish olive green..love this shade..
Noir is satiny bluish grey
Ultramattes V2 is a matte deep black.

Oh So Special is a matte grey..not too pigmented
Bohemian is a matte coral..makes a good blush
Storm is a matte navy blue
Sparkle is frost pink..again a highlighter
Au Natural is a matte deep plum with silver shimmer..its Festive from Sparkle 2 Palette
Graphite is satin finish light milky brown

Overall quite a nice mix of colors..and mix of matte and satin shades..good highlighters and a pretty dark matte black..matte blending shades..and a nice olive green, grey, burgundy, plum and brown..shades which are quite wearable..

Personally for me..I love wearing plums, browns, greys and burgundy, olive greens for weddings, etc..plus a matte black and two highlighters just completes the palette..I am loving every new palette of Sleek MakeUP..but there are a few which are quite suited for our warm skin tones..and quite wearable..this is one of those..I am loving it as much as my Sparkle 2 and Oh So Special 🙂

These are online exclusive and do check online at www.sleekmakeup.com

Launch: April 10th 2013

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain Review, Swatches

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain Lovesick, Honey, Romantic Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: It’s a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 10 vibrant shades that match any look or mood.

-Lightweight Lipstain + Moisturizing Balm
-100% of women who tried it felt their lips were instantly moisturized with a soft stain of color
-Retractable chubby crayon, no sharpener required

EXPERT TIPS:

Step 1: Apply Just Bitten Kissable™ Balm Stain evenly to clean, bare lips. Build color and coverage as desired.

Step 2: Reapply as desired for moisturizing shine throughout the day.

MRP: Rs. 600/- for g

Shades Available: 10

Honey, Crush, Darling, Cherish, Lovesick, Sweetheart, Smitten, Rendezvous, Romantic, and Adore.

What makes this product so interesting is that it’s not only a pampering lip balm but it works as a lightweight lip stain too! That said, this product leaves you with softer and smoother lips with color that lasts for hours. This handy product comes in a chubby crayon form that retracts to avoid all messy smudges inside your bag.

Thats the whole qty

It a chubby retractable crayon stick with a sturdy cap..all crayons are of the color of their shades. The packaging is quite similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks..but these are more of a stain..and the Clinique ones are more like tinted balms.

Honey, Lovesick, Romantic

These have a minty smell..and feel cooling on application too..are moisturising and glossy at the start..but settle to a stain in around an hour..and the stain lasts for 5-6 hours ! I do think you should top it up with a gloss or lip balm time and again if you suffer from dry or chapped lips..coz otherwise it did look terrible.

Honey is an amazing pink brown..an MLBB shade for me..this can be worn everyday everywhere..to your office, market, just about anywhere..

Lovesick is a gorgeous fuchsia pink..ahh I am into the fuchsia mode you know 😉

Romantic is a warm orange red

I love how light they feel on the lips and can be worn sheer or builded up…but the only issue is the stain fades unevenly especially the darker colors.

Here are the swatches..

L-R: Romantic, Lovesick, Honey

I am sorry for the Romantic lip swatch..its difficult to remove the stain..and use another..and removing the stain made lips quite dry too 🙁

Pros:

1. Feels light.
2. Darker colors are quite pigmented..the stain stays for 3-4 hours.
3. Very pretty universal shades in the collection.
4. Colors of packaging as per shades..so easy to identify.
5. Feels glossy and moisturising at the start and settles to a semi matte stain later..
6. Do not bleed.

Cons:

1. Darker colors fade unevenly.
2. One needs a lip balm underneath..and also over the stain after a few hours..coz it tends to feel dry.
3. Not travel friendly..it messes in a bag..inside its cap :/

Overall I quite love these stains..glossy and moisturising..and the shades offered..these are quite handy and low maintainance..Honey is a shade which can be used everyday too..and Lovesick is a very pretty fuchsia..Surely recommend these.

SUITABLE FOR ACNE PRONE SKIN

Price: Rs.250/- for 10g

How to use: Swipe BB Stick on your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin.
Blend in an outward direction towards hairline and jawline using quick, short strokes.
Finally, you could also apply a little Kajal and Lip Balm for a great natural look.

Available in 2 shades:

1.Radiance (Fair)

2. Fawn (Medium)

Maybelline BB Stick comes in a swivel twist up packaging with a plastic cap..comes in 2 shades..Radiance for fairer skin tones and Fawn for medium to dark..Fawn is a little darker and yellower for me..Fawn would suit skin tones NC 40 and above..I have not checked out Radiance..so I am not sure how light it is..but I heard its ashy and does not have yellow undertones.

Thats the whole qty

It needs to be swiped around all over the face in 2-3 strokes..nose, forehead, area around the mouth, cheeks, jawline and neck..and blended using fingers in outward direction..either you can use it directly from the stick..or if you have acne prone skin or tend to share makeup, take it on your clean fingers and apply and blend away.

The first time I used this..I did not like it much..2nd day I liked it..3rd day I liked it even more..actually the longer time you wear this you will love it more..coz it keeps the skin matte and shine free..and gives a nice glowy effect and cuts the dullness from the face…plus gives decent coverage..and looks better after a few hours.

It gives medium coverage and covers redness, dark circles, etc well..but acne scars would need concealer above it..keeps the skin matte..mine is combination and I did not feel the need to use a powder or even touch up..coz skin looked the same and shine free..

It has SPF21 and Salicylic acid..so sun protection plus good for acne prone skin..it is so easy to carry anywhere..and use just with your fingers..

Here is it..unblended and blended..

Pros:

1. Gives medium coverage.
2. Easy to use and carry along.
3. Blends easily with fingers..and effortless to use anywhere.
4. Has SPF 21 PA+++
5. Keeps skin shine and oil free for 5-6 hours.
6. Stays all day long..and looks better by the end of the day.
7. Gives a nice glow to the skin and cuts out dullness from the face.
8. Salicylic acid helps heal acne..so good for acne prone skin too.
9. Reduces the appearance of pores.
10. Cost effective at Rs.250/- and 10g is a good qty too..this would last long..unlike the very less qty of the BB cream.

Cons:

1. Accentuates dry patches..dry skin would need a very heavy moisturiser before using this..
2. Radiance is light and Fawn is dark..most of us fall in between..there should have been minimum 4 shades launched in this.

Overall I quite liked this..I only need to use a good moisturiser underneath it..and I would have loved it more, if I had a shade that would have matched correctly..but nonetheless..it does blend in like second skin..but just a little yellower and darker.

I surely recommend this..if you around NC 40-42..this would quite suit you..and if you oily skinned..grab this now..
