SHADES: 3 shades – Natural Ochre, Warm Golden & Natural Tan

MRP: Rs. 800/- for 23.7ml

I have Warm Golden and Natural Ochre..they come in a glass jar..which is quite heavy..I would not suggest travelling with these..

It has a white cap inside..the texture is quite thick and mousse like creamy..but not air filled or light weight like the Inglot AMC Mousse Foundation..but more rich and creamy..like whipped cream exactly..as the name goes..

Now I saw the pics on some blogs where it appeared thinner and not mousse like..I feel the texture melts in summers and becomes more liquidy..if you get it..

It gives a medium to heavy coverage…I use it very lightly and in lesser qty when I just want some evenness and not full coverage..and when builded completely, it gives a flawless full coverage..this is perfect for weddings and stuff, or if you are a Makeup artist and need a foundation for brides…also it photographs beautifully..more so with flash..it gives a flawless canvas..but using too much of it may give a cakey look..

It gives a matte finish..so good for oily combination skin..but in winters I surely need a good moisturiser beneath..and dry skin would need it more so..and stays well whole day..in fact with this foundation, it appears better and better by the end of the day..I think it takes some time to blend in and gel with the skin..and settles beautifully.

T: Natural Ochre, B: Warm Golden

Coming to the shades, both Warm Golden and Natural Ochre suit me..now Warm Golden is neutral and Natural Ochre is lightest with yellow undertones..but on blending..both matched well..in fact I used Warm Golden on half side and Natural Ochre on other half..and there was hardly any visible difference 😀 Though Warm Golden is one shade that would suit many of us..

See how both blend well..

Pros:

1. Gives a flawless coverage when builded full.
2. Matte finish..so good for oily combination skin.
3. Photographs well.
4. Perfect for wedding, occasions and for MUA’s
5. Easy to use…and blends in well.
6. Looks better and better by the end of the day.
7. Stays well whole day..with just slight powder touch up on T zone mostly.
8. At first I felt the qty was less, but actually its good enough..compared to other foundations too.
9. Economical for the range of full coverage foundations.

Cons:

1.  The packaging…very heavy glass jar..not travel friendly..and have to dip in fingers.
2. Only 3 shades available in India..there are none for darker skin tones.
3. Dry skin surely needs a moisturiser beneath..and if you like dewy finish..this one is not for you..its all about matte.
4. It settles into fine lines at times..especially when not moisturised well..so a good primer enhances its look..I am not sure how this would fare on mature skin.

Overall I would say this is a very good foundation..especially for oily combination skin..and if you have some occasion coming up, I would say surely try this..it would give you a flawless base..and half the job is done ladies if the base is perfect 😉

Though I would have preferred more shades..only 3 shades obviously do not suit all..and fortunately both work well for me..I use both mixed together at times..so if you are around NC 30-35 Natural Ochre is your shade and for NC 37-40 Warm Golden it is..and those NC 42 and above, Natural Tan is for you..

If you have dry skin and like dewy finish..or do not like full coverage foundations and like the ones that lets the skin breathe, like me, you may give this a skip..but occasionally I do prefer full coverage ones..

MAC Eyeshadow Romp Review, Swatches

MAC Eyeshadow Romp Review, Swatches

MAC describes Romp as ‘Chocolate laced with gold’. Its a frost finish..it is discontinued now..

MRP: Rs.720/- for refill, Rs.900/- for single pan

I would say its a medium dark golden brown…and love using it on lids..since it has shimmer, I do not like it on crease…a little deeper matte brown in crease with this on lid looks nice..

It applies smoothly, evenly and goes well with oranges and other deeper brown shades..it makes a nice lid color..

Highly pigmented, smooth textured and blends well.

This shade is quite easy to work with..even for a newbie..and pairs well with Indian wear too.

L: Sunlight R: Indoors

Pros:

1. Highly pigmented.
2. Easy to work with.
3. Blends well.
4. A nice neutral golden brown and works well for all skin tones.
5. Makes a good lid color.
6. Goes well with Indian wear.
7. Satin smooth texture.
8. Stays well for 6-7 hours even without a base.

Cons:

1. Expensive as all MAC is.
2. Discontinued now.

No other cons as such..I love the shade, texture, pigmentation, staying power..and it is one neutral shadow that would look good on all skin tones..and work with Indian wear too. Highly recommended. This also is my first MAC eyeshadow 🙂

Since it is discontinued now, you can check out Tempting which is quite quite similar but is Lustre Finish.

Faces Go Chic Lipstick Review, Swatches

Faces Go Chic Lipstick 31 Prairie Pink Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Long stay, extra-shine lip colors.
Super stay, easy to apply Lipstick gives uniform coverage. Repair your lips against climatic changes. Get ready for rich, long lasting color in just one swipe.

MRP: Rs.199/- for 4.5g (Available for Rs.169/- on flipkart and medplusbeauty)

Ingredients:

It comes in a simple no fuss metallic silver body..has a somewhat sweet smell..but not too bothersome..

Prairie Pink is a coral peachy pink..it has a hint of all..quite a unique shade..despite having so many lippies I do not think I have any shade like this..I love how the shade brightens the face..it will suit medium and fair skin tones..not too sure about dusky..

I thought Colorbar Take Me As I Am Flirtatious Pink could come closer but this is much deeper..and that has hint of brown and no coral..

It goes on super smooth and is quite moisturising..no need of a lip balm beneath..it gives a semi matte finish..I am amazed by the pigmentation and staying power of this ! It is super pigmented and in 2 swipes comes up full bright..and stays for 4-5 hours leaving behind a strong tint..even the swatch on my hand did not budge easily..

T:1 swipe, B:2 swipes

Pros:

1. Super pigmented.
2. Very creamy and moisturising.
3. Stays for 4-5 hours.
4. Simple no fuss packaging.
5. Super economical..its the cheapest in terms of price and with the most qty amongst all drugstore lipsticks and being so good.
6. Comes in 34-35 shades !
7. The shade Prairie Pink is the most unique shade in my stash..would suit medium and fair skin tones..and brightens the face instantly.

Cons:

1. The bottom of the lipstick feels a little shaky..so it should be handled well..or would break off.

No other cons..I am amazed and so loving this lipstick..Lakme and Maybelline Moisture Extreme are also priced more than this..and still do not have this amazing pigmentation and staying power..and at 169..this is so fab..and perfect for gifting too..plus more than 32 shades..there is one for everyone..Surely recommend this !

I know a few shades like Mulberry, Hazelnut, Fig, Poppy Red and Candy Floss are quite popular..surely checking them out..

Ellis Faas Milky Lips Review, Swatches

Ellis Faas Milky Lips L209 Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Milky Lips L209 – Toffee Beige

WHAT – A long-wear, fluid lipstick that provides highly-pigmented colour, and a glossy finish that lasts overtime. Superior comfort both in application and on the lips. Plumping actives improve hydration and smooth your lips. Especially loved by women who do not like to feel lipstick on their lips.

WHY – The light texture of this highly pigmented, covering lipstick gives great definition to your lips, both as a fully covering shade, but also as a mere stain.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS – Vitamin E (Tocopherol), Candelilla Wax, Prune Seed Extract.

HOW – Apply Milky Lips with the brush applicator first by painting the lips with just a small amount of lipstick, then fully load the applicator to fill inside of the lips. Milky Lips is also great for a more stained effect: just load a tiny bit of the lipstick onto the applicator, apply and blot for a matte stain. Watch the instruction video!

A “Human Colour” and therefore suitable for each skin tone, age or style.

No scent. No taste. No parabens. No animal testing.

MRP: $35.00 or Rs.1875/-

Shades available: 9

All shades for reference…

Directions: “For a subtle look with just a trace of color, either apply a feather-light layer all over the lips or apply Milky Lips to the middle of the lips and fade it with the fingertips.”

Ellis Lips comes in three textures: Creamy Lips (L101-109), Milky Lips (L201-209), and Glazed Lips (L301-309) and all have sheer to buildable coverage and are quite pigmented.

It comes in a classic Ellis Faas silver metallic pen packaging..with a brush applicator..the base needs to be twisted some 20-25 times for the first time for the product to come out..

The formula is sheerer and lighter compared to Creamy lips..but surely buildable as mentioned above..the glossiness fades and goes away within an hour and leaves behind a matte finish..and the color even settles into fine lines..

Just 1 swipe

Shade L209 Toffee Beige looks more brown on some..but on me its a nice peachy nude..an everyday shade and I am loving the shade..I am not into browns but I sure love my nudes !

Used sheer

Pros:

1. Nice packaging.
2. Easy to use.
3. Quite pigmented.
4. Buildable.
5. No animal testing or parabens.
6. Good everyday nude or MLBB shade for medium skin tones.

Cons:

1. Expensive !
2. Glossiness goes away within an hour and settles into fine lines..one needs very moisturised lips for this.
3. Difficult to locate products when all together :/
4. Availability issues.

Overall I love the shade and the fact that its quite pigmented and buildable. I do like the packaging..but as the outer body is same, gets confusing to locate..the texture and quality is sure amazing..would surely recommend..

With Vitamin A and E and apricot oil, the Soft Touch Lipstick has anti-aging properties that protect the lips from chapping and discolouration. Price: Rs. 325/- for 4.2g

Shades Available: 29-30

Colorbar Soft Touch Lipsticks come in simple silver metal body packaging…these clasp tight and are sturdy enough.

Rougemarie is a burgundy/maroon shade but more towards deep oxblood/wine red..which is quite an IN shade these days..

These are highly moisturising and very pigmented and stay long too…they have a sweet smell..but it goes away soon..

Here is it on me..

Pros:

1. Very moisturising.
2. Highly pigmented..you just need 2 swipes for complete coverage.
3. Simple elegant packaging.
4. Stays for a good 4-5 hours..leaving behind a stain.
5. 4.2g is a good qty
6. Would suit both fair and dusky skin tones.

Cons:

1. Stains teeth..and a lot

I actually have no other cons with it..its a nice formula offering around 30 shades..and the darker shades are quite pigmented too..only issue being the darker shades stain teeth :/

There are some other nice shades they have..Citrine is a bright orange..I like Pink Charm too..a nude pink..would show some more swatches later on..I surely recommend these..
