Lakme Earth Rose Trio Blush Review, Swatches

Lakme Earth Rose Trio Blush Review, Swatches

Lakme Earth Rose Trio Blush was a part of the Gypsy collection of Lakme..It comes in an absolutely stunning flower design and has three colors..I think every blogger around has this beauty by now…and if you don’t..get this as soon as you can.

Lakme Earth Rose Trio Blush Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: A palette of complementing earthy shades that are super easy to apply and perfectly buildable. The silky smooth highly pigmented formula allows for effortless, uniform application blending in easily for a gorgeous glow. The three shades complement each other, to create endless options for defining, highlighting and accentuating features.

MRP: Rs 600/- for 13.5 g

It comes in a round big packaging with pretty outer carton too..it does not have a brush or mirror. It has this flower shaped design..Is’nt it cute !

The shades are :

Very Natural rosy pink (I love such natural flush to the cheeks kinda shades)
Light Peachy Brown with some fine golden shimmer
Plum Brown (can be used for contouring too)
T-B: Brown, Peach,Pink

And all three combined also give a nice peachy pinky color.

The texture and quality is very good with Lakme this time..probably coz its made in Italy.

Pros:
1. Packaging and design is super pretty.
2. All three are stunning…the brown can be used for contouring and the pink and peach as blushes or all three combined for a peachy pinky glow 🙂
3. The price is reasonable considering we get three different pretty blushes.
4. The texture and pigmentation is quite good !
5. Peach shade has some fine shimmer but does not look OTT.
6. The quantity is good enough..13.5 g is going to stay forever for me.
7. Stays for a good 6-7 hours.

Cons:
1. It was a Limited Edition blush..so I am not sure of the availability now.

No other cons..3 blushes for 600 are a steal..and that too such pretty colors and very decent quality texture, pigmentation and staying power wise.

Rating:

Quality: 4.5/5
Value for money : 5/5

Overall rating : 4.25/5

Would I buy it again: I wont need to as this would stay for a long time.. But I would recommend it to everyone..if you can lay your hands on this beauty..don’t give it a miss.

Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush Peach Satin Review, Swatches

Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush Peach Satin Review, Swatches

Maybelline Dream Mousse range has foundation, blushes, bronzers and concealers (which are sadly not available here). Havent heard positive reviews of the foundation but I guess everyone has one blush from this. The colors available are Dolly Pink, Peach Satin, Rose Petal, Coffee cake, Soft Plum and Pink Marshmallow.
Some other pretty shades which are not available in India are Cloud Wine, Whipped Strawberries and Pink Frosting.

What the Company claims: An Air-soft formula which provides luminous, long-lasting color on cheeks. Glides on smoothly and blends easily for seamless color and a natural, radiant finish. Air-whipped mousse delivers satin-soft feel on skin. Long-wearing formula will not clog pores.

Directions for use: With your fingertips, pat a small amount of blush onto the apples of your cheeks. Use feathery strokes to blend gently from your cheekbones to your temples. To build color intensity, apply more blush.

MRP: Rs.180/-

All the blushes are shimmery..but not glittery or OTT…still if you are looking for matte ones..these are sadly not.
The texture of this blush is amazing and super easy to blend..the perfect mousse like texture…and easy for beginners too. Since they are shimmery..you can wear them at night time probably as shimmer may not be preferred at day time…

Peach Satin is a light peachy color with shimmer..

Blended-Unblended

Pros:

1. The texture..super nice..
2. Packaging..it comes in a small round glass jar.
3. Quantity is awesum…as this is gonna last a long long time…
4. Economical at this price.
5. Its non comodogenic…did not break me out.
6. Best way to use it is as a base for powder blushes…they stay all day with this as a base.

Cons:

1. No matte shades.
2. Less colors in India…some colors like whipped strawberries are really pretty… why dont they launch in India 🙁
3. Its in a pot..so you have to always dip your hands or use Q tips to remove the product.
4. The staying power is ok…stays for 3-4 hours and leaves behind shimmer..:(

Rating:

Quality: 3.5/5
Value for money: 4/5

Overall rating : 3.5/5

Would I buy it again: May be…If I get whipped strawberries..yes :p
I also want to get Soft Plum…

Have you used the Dream Mousse Blush? Whats your take on it?

Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner Review

Gel liners are much better to use for lining eyes than the pencil ones..which tend to fade away and better than liquid liners for newbies where precision and control is required.
Abroad there are Bobbi brown gel liners which are the best..and which unfortunately we dont get in India..we have MAC Fluidlines and Clinique in high end which have gel and cream liners respectively..in many different colors which retail for Rs 1000/- and Rs 1100/- respectively.
In drugstore brands there is Maybelline and Tips and Toes which are for Rs. 375/- and Rs. 210/- respectively.
Coming to the Maybelline one…here it is…

What the Company claims: Creamy gel types allows to draw a smooth clean line without crease. Customized eye line brush allows lines to be drawn as desired from fine to thick. The creamy gel texture dries quickly after application. Long lasting water proof and smudge proof formula that resists sweat, tears and water.

Directions for use: 1. Dip Tip Of Brush Into Gel Formula And Wipe Off Excess On Rim Of Jar. 2. Glide Brush In Small Strokes Across Lash Line. 3. Continue To Build Line, Until Desired Intensity Is Achieved. **After Each Use, Wipe Brush Clean With Dry Tissue And Close Cap Tightly.

Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Polypropylsilsesquioxane, Ceresin, Isododecane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Caprylyl Methicone, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Silica Silylate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Propylene Carbonate, Candelilla Cera/Candelilla Wax/Cire De Candelilla, Caprylyl Glycol, Aluminum Hydroxide, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide. [+/- May Contain/Peut Contenir: Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499/Iron Oxides, Mica, Ci 77891/Titanium Dioxide, Ci 77007/Ultramarines, Ci 77510/Ferric Ferrocyanide, Ci 77288/Chromium Oxide Greens, Ci 77289/Chromium Hydroxide Green, Ci 77742/Manganese Violet, Ci 42090/Blue 1 Lake, Ci 19140/Yellow 5 Lake, Ci 77510/Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide.]

MRP: Rs 375/- for 2.8 g

And after trying to smudge them..

The Brush

Pros:
1. The texture of this gel is awesome..glides on super smooth and nicely.
2. The brush that comes with is damn good…I have shaky hands..yet it helps in getting a smooth line…and this brush gives a thick to thin..any desired lines.
3. It is long lasting and smudge proof as it claims..it stays on whole day without smudging or fading.
4. It gives an even and matte look..better than liquid liners.
5. It helps in getting that perfect winged look too.
6. Its perfect for tightlining the eyes.
7. It dries quickly and hence does not smear or spread.

Cons:
1. It comes in a single color in India i,e Black..there are other colors like Brown and Eggplant available abroad.
2. The brush is separate and there is a chance of misplacing it..unlike Tips and Toes which have their brush attached on top.
3. Tips and Toes is more economical at Rs.210/-
4. Its not meant to be used on waterline..so do not use it there..though some people do..I tried it twice..but it kinda irritated my eyes and I felt itchy..though nothing harsh…But I would suggest avoid it as it contains lots of chemicals and is Made In China :p

Rating:

Quality: 4/5
Value for money: 3.5/5
Availability: 5/5

Overall rating: 4/5

Would I buy it again: Yes if I get it in some other colors…or else would try Tips and Toes if I run out on this..which wont happen soon.

Tip: Usually gel liners tend to dry out..especially the Bobbi Brown ones..though Maybelline doesnt any soon…what one can do is keep them upside down so that the air in the jar gravitates downwards and stays a bit away from the gel..and if your gel liner has already dried out..try adding a few drops of Inglot Duraline to it.

Do you use gel liners? Which are your favourite ?

MAC Bite of an Apple Blush, swatches, FOTD

MAC Bite of an Apple Blush is from the Evil Queen Collection of Venomous Villains..Its a matte finish blush..the color appears different in different lights…its a coral pink color which when applied with a light hand..gives that perfect soft pink glow to the cheeks…it some times appears more coralish and sometimes more pinkish..you would see that in the pics..

In Artificial light

In Sunlight

Its a very different color..and I have not heard any dupes yet..except the Benefit Bella Bamba…but that has shimmer where as this is matte.
This is one of the must haves from the VV collection.
The camera is not picking up the color though 🙁

MRP- Rs 1205/-

This will suit medium to fair complexioned gals..

Heres the swatch…

Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Review, Swatches

Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Naked Pink Review, Swatches

Rakshanda wanted a review on this..so here it is..
Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipsticks come in 45 shades and there is one for every one..there are pinks, browns, nudes, mauves, burgundy,etc..all colors..

I have the one in 57P Naked Pink. Its a dark mauvey pink with a little earthiness to it..I think this shade would suit people with both fair and dusky complexion..it comes off different on different skin tones..for people with pink pigmented lips..its even an MLBB shade.

What the Company claims : For a rich lip colour with a creamy shine, the Velvett Matte Lipstick, available in 45 stunning shades infuse the lips with vibrancy. Its unique 2-in-1 formulation gives the lips a creamy, yet matte finish. A one of a kind product in India, it has super softening agents that give the lips a soft and supple appearance while keep them nourished with Vitamin E. Staying on up to 5 hours on application, the Velvett Matte Lipstick can be further accentuated with lip gloss and lip liner.

MRP- Rs. 225/- for 4.2 g (They were for Rs.200/- before)

Here is the swatch

And here it is on me..

Pros:

1. True to its claim..they are pretty long lasting..in fact they lasted the longest amongst all the lipsticks I have..They stayed for around 4-5 hours despite eating,drinking,everything..and they leave behind a tint.
2. The colors are very pretty.
3. They are a steal at Rs.225/-..pretty economical. (I got them for Rs. 180/-)
4. The ends have the same shade as the color..so easy to recognise if you have 2-3 of these.
5. They have a sweet smell…not too bothering.
6. They go on pretty smoothly…and have a somewhat matte finish.
7. 4.2 g is a good enough quantity.

Cons:

1. They are a bit drying as all matte lipsticks but wearing a lip balm underneath would help.
2. You have to top it off with a clear gloss if you like the glossy finish.
3. The shades online are pretty confusing and don’t match the color at all.
4. All the shades leave behind a pink tint..which is somewhat weird.

Overall these are quite value for money…and offer some amazing shades..surely recommended..

9. These are blendable and can be smudged and used as eye shadows.

11.They are in pencil form so you can sharpen them and keep away from microbes for those who are more towards hygiene and don’t prefer mechanical pencils.

12.They are travel friendly.

13.They come off with a normal cleanser.

Cons :

1. They smudge a lot when used on the lower lashline but then they never claimed to be smudge proof or water proof.

2. They do not last 16 hours as claimed !! But ya these last 5-6 hours normally but less on the waterline and the Blue Virtuose smudges horribly when used on lower lashline.

Overall rating : 3.5/5

Would I buy it again- Yes ..love it for my upper lashline. I find it convenient, quick and easy as I have shaky hands and take more time with liquid liners.Plus I can carry this along with me if I need to.

Do you have these ? How is your experience ?

War of Face Washes- Himalaya v Pond’s v Fabindia and my HG

War of Face Washes- Himalaya v Pond’s v Fabindia

Ok..here is a quick comparision of the face washes I have tried. Precisely its Himalaya Purifying Neem Face wash (which I am using from last 4-5 years and yes you are right…this is my HG), Pond’s White Beauty Daily Spotless Lightening Facial Foam and Fabindia Tea Tree Face wash.

Lets start with Himalaya Purifying Neem…there is also a Foaming one in this which comes in a pump dispenser..I have tried that 1-2 times..but I feel this one is better and stick to it…

Followup with Himalaya Herbals Face Moisutrizing Lotion.Use Himalaya Herbals Neem Face Pack once a week to rejuvenate and revitalize your facial skin.

1. It leaves my skin squeaky clean without any dryness or stretchy feeling.
2. Using this regularly has helped reduce break outs.
3. It is very mild and gentle.
4. I love the refreshing smell and it wakes me up instantly.
5. I trust Himalaya with their products and it mentions all the ingredients.
6. The 45 ml tube is travel friendly.
7. Its cheap and a good value for money.

Cons :
1. The flip tube cap is a bit tight.

Umm…no other cons..I guess… I love it too much and come back to it always..I am going to buy this forever..but I do try other face washes in between.

Rating- 4.5/5

Would I buy it again- Yes yes….forever

Now the Pond’s White Beauty Daily Spotless Lightening Facial Foam…It is a  white creamy facewash…and just a bit is required as it foams a lot…it has Pro Vitamin B3

What the Company claims- Cleanses deeply for glowing and brighter skin. This gentle foam deeply cleanses and brightens skin, transforming your complexion to a radiant look you have always wanted. The foams unique formula reduces dullness and brightens skin, while washing away old and weary, sallow skin cells. Skin feels soft, smooth and sparkling clean.

Rating- 3/5

Would I buy it again- No

And lastly Fabindia Tea Tree Face Wash…its a transparent gel…with a strong tea tree smell. Tea tree oil is supposed to be very good for oily skin, pimples, blemishes, uneven skin tone, body odour, dandruff, etc

Cons :
1. The smell…strong tea tree oil smell.
2. Its runny..so you have to be careful with this.
3. Can be drying if used more than once a day even for oily skinned.
4. The price considering it comes in a huge tube. They should come out with a smaller size.
5. It is not travel friendly as its a big tube.
6. It leaves a slippery feeling behind.

Though I have combination skin.. I use it occasionally whenever I break out..and it does help in that.I like most of the Fabindia products as they are quite effective.

Rating- 3/5

Would I buy it again- May be..if in case I break out or something.

So overall I am quite happy with my HG..my Himalaya Neem for my daily use.

P.S : I went for shopping at Pantaloons…got 4 T shirts and 1 nice pair of earrings..they are in gold color..and perfect for traditional wear..love them..

So which is your HG face wash ? And which do you like among these three ??
