Colorbar Crème Touch Lipstick Candy Rose Review, Swatches

 By Pallavi

Lipsticks form a very important part of your personality. When you start applying lipsticks then you realize that you need to own not only 1 but at least 4-5 pairs of lipsticks, one for every occasion.

Confused well let me help you out. You need to have a nude lipstick as per your skin tone. This is mostly for offices or any formal occasion. Other than this on numerous occasions when you all dressed up and glammed up then you can apply a nude lipstick in order to tone down your entire look. Next comes the dark red lippy which is a must have for festive looks and special date nights. Next is a fuchsia colour which is perfect for any bright day or days when you want to perk up your mood. And finally comes the time for a light pink colour lipstick which is also perfect for most of the occasions. I believe you should have at least 2-3 pairs of light colour lipsticks so that you can alternatively try them whenever you wish.

So, with similar thought I bought this lipstick from the house of Colorbar. Let’s see how it fared on me.

Product claims: Colorbar Crème Touch Lipstick comes with the promise of lips that are eloquent and luscious. It comes with lovely rich colours and rich in moisturizing properties making lips look fuller and creamier all day long. It has sheabutter, Vitamin E and sunscreen agents at SPF 15 level which nourish and protect your lips against UV rays. It glides on effortlessly for flawless, even coverage for that perfect pout. Colorbar Crème Touch Lipstick are the perfect way to pamper your lips, not only you will love the rich, lustrous colour, but the lovely creamy texture of the lip colour as well.

Price : Rs. 450 for 4.5 Grams

My Views :

Packaging wise the lipstick is classy. It comes in a medium sized bullet which can fit easily inside your pocket. It has an outer packaging of steel which looks very classy. It has the price and batch name and details inscribed. The shade name of the lipstick is mentioned at the base of the lipstick.

This lipstick from the house of Colorbar comes in crème range and thus it is very creamy and extremely moisturizing. It feels very comfortable on lips. And for dry lips like me this lipstick is a boom. I would love to try others shades from this range. But this range has a big downside. The bullet of the lipstick is more or less flimsy. If you end up twisting a bit more lipstick then there is a fear that it might break down. Also, if by mistake the lipstick falls down then there is a higher chance that the bullet will break.

Coming to the shade of this lipstick from the house of Colorbar it is Candy Rose which is very light pink. It is more of a frosty or cool toned pink colour. This colour will look fab on fairer skin tones. But duskier skin tones like me can also rock this lipstick. This is perfect for regular usage.

But there are some special application tips before you begin with this lipstick. You must clean your lips with a lip scrub or a simple baby tooth brush. Then only apply the lipstick. It is because the lipstick has a crème and slightly messy finish. So, in order to prevent flakes on your lips it’s best to begin with clean lips.

In terms of longevity the lipstick stays for a really long time. I apply it in the morning and till lunch it is very much there. Even after a heavy lunch it fades evenly. After which I re apply a bit and then it is again there till there end of the day.

The bonus with this lipstick is that after drying it never settles into lip lines which I absolutely hate. After the colour fades the lips still feel soft and moisturized.

Pros of Colorbar Crème Touch Lipstick Candy Rose

1. Available online and offline

2. Affordably Priced

3. Has a crème finish

4. Universal colour

5. Stays quite long

6. Lips is soft and moisturized

7. Comes with a goodness of SPF 15

Cons of Colorbar Crème Touch Lipstick Candy Rose

1. Lipstick bullet can break easily

2. Application can turn nasty

Rating :

Packaging : 4/5

Texture : 4.5/5

Longetivity : 5/5

Shade – 4.5/5

Overall rating – 4.5/5

Editor’s Note: That’s a pretty shade indeed! I hear one of their best selling in this creme touch range.

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner Noir Black Review, Swatches

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner Noir Black Review, Swatches

By Linda

Hello ladies…

Today I will be reviewing a liquid eyeliner that I purchased around 3-4 months back from a drugstore, and it is called Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner. I was looking for an easy non messy and glossy application of winged eyeliner and the sales assistant at the counter suggested for this product. Was really impressed after testing it for the first time and decided to go ahead and purchase it. Recently I was going through Maybelline website (India) and noticed there are two products that appear to look almost similar in regards to felt tip application that is Maybelline Colossal Liner and Maybelline Eye studio Hypersharp Liner. I haven’t used either of them so won’t be able to comment on it. So let’s go ahead and find out about Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner

Maybelline Website Claims:Master flow with our exclusive ultra-thin 0.4mm brush tip applies continuous flow for smooth, even, perfected lines. No mess or excess.

Master Intensity with our ink technology that keeps pigment saturated.Long wearing, water and smudge-proof eye liner. Ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested. Fragrance free. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lenses wearers.

Ingredients:

Price: 3.5 Kuwait Dinar (KWD) / Approximately 800 INR

Shelf life of 6 months from opening

My take on this liquid eyeliner

Packaging: Lightweight, Pen shaped with a fine soft felt tip. Travel friendly. The cap fits on tightly due to which the formulation does not dry out easily.

On application this eyeliner enables you to draw precise and defined lines since it glides on smoothly over the eyelids. It is because of the fine soft tip you can achieve a neat defined line of varying thickness. I would say this product is ideal for the beginners who are trying to rock winged eyeliner.

The soft textured formulation gives jet black pigmentation with a glossy finish. On my oily eyelids it did last for 6-7 hours and it definitely did not smudge. For non oily eyelids, trust me it will last even longer. This product is not water proof as it claims; with one splash of water you will end up looking like one melting panda. So due to its fine tip and being non-water proof, it isn’t ideal for your water line.

I always apply this eyeliner over the eyelids and it does not irritate at all.

If you are looking for a quick easy application then definitely go for this product. But if you are looking for something that is really long lasting ,for waterline application and for super oily eyelids then definitely this is not the product you need

Pros:

  • Travel friendly
  • Ideal for beginners
  • A sophisticated look can be easily achieved
  • Reasonable price
  • Did not cause any irritation

Cons:

  • Non water proof
  • Requires multiple swipes
  • Few seconds are required for the formulation to dry after application

Rating: 3.5/5

Would I recommend Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner? Yes for beginners .But for experts there are many other better options available in the market.

Editor’s Note: Sounds ok. My favourite here is the Maybelline Colossal Liner, but I will give this a try if it launches here.

Faces Ultime Pro Creme Lip Crayon Review, Swatches

Faces Ultime Pro Creme Lip Crayon Review, Swatches

Hi guys,

Today I am reviewing 6 shades of the new Faces Ultime Pro Creme Lip Crayons, 10 shades are launched in total. They had launched Matte Lip Crayons late last year, read review HERE. Now they have come with the creme version in lip crayons.

Claims: A collection of 10 retractable Crème Lip Crayons that are rich, creamy and moisturizing. The high pigment of these lip crayons will provide a creamy finish that does not dry up the lips. These are long lasting, velvety soft and glides onto the lips, providing them full coverage.

From beautiful nudes to striking reds to shades of pinks and corals & warms oranges there’s a shade for everyone.

MRP: Rs.749/- for 4g

Shades Available:

  • Red Velvet 01
  • Sunset Kiss 02
  • Envy 03
  • Invincible 04
  • Mochalicious 05
  • Sun Dew 06
  • Fantasy 07
  • Cherrypop 08
  • Berry Punch 09
  • Confession 10

It comes in a retractable chubby lip crayon packaging with a transparent plastic cap. Though the pencils are colored according to shades and that makes it convenient, there is no difference between creme and matte as such packaging wise except that the matte ones required sharpening and were not retractable, so if you have used up and sharpened the matte, the difference in size is obvious.

The matte ones were required sharpening and hence came with it’s own sharpener and also the qty was only 2.6g where as these are retractable, so much more convenient plus the qty is 4g

I have the shades 02 Sunset Kiss, 03 Envy, 06 Sun Dew, 07 Fantasy, 08 Cherrypop and 09 Berry Punch. They are easy to use and travel friendly, as they are retractable.

L-R: 02 Sunset Kiss, 03 Envy, 06 Sun Dew, 07 Fantasy, 08 Cherrypop and 09 Berry Punch

Pigmentation wise, these are pretty pigmented for creme lip crayons. Usually for creme ones, I need 2-3 swipes for opaque coverage. All the swatches here are just 1-2 swipes, mostly 1 for darker shades. These are pretty pigmented for creme lip crayons!

Clockwise: 02 Sunset Kiss, 03 Envy, 06 Sun Dew, 07 Fantasy, 08 Cherrypop and 09 Berry Punch

Texture is waxy and not gel like, these are a little thick and feel like lip balm on the lips, also very moisturizing. These are pretty easy to wear even if you have dry, chapped lips like me. As they are very forgiving and do not accentuate dry patches or lines on the lips.

They stay for 2-3 hours and the finish is glossy initially and turns matte later on, with the color also getting a little muted. It won’t survive full meal and is also not transfer proof, you will have to reapply after eating/drinking. But without eating/drinking, it does leave behind a nice stain which stays on for about 3-4 hours.

Coming to the shades..

Sunlight
Indoors

Sunset Kiss is a warm orange shade

Envy is a medium coral

Sun Dew is a light orangey coral

Fantasy is a medium nude pink

Cherrypop is a medium berry pink, the most pigmented of these 6

Berry Punch is a light berry wine

And here are the lip swatches..

Clockwise: 02 Sunset Kiss, 03 Envy, 06 Sun Dew, 07 Fantasy, 08 Cherrypop and 09 Berry Punch

Please excuse my dry lips as my lips are going through a bad, dry phase right now.

My favourites are Fantasy, Cherrypop and Berry Punch. Also Mochalicious is a beautiful shade to check out!

Overall I quite love how comfortable and moisturizing these are. Pretty pigmented too, only thing is these being creme and not matte, are not long staying and need reapplication. I would love more shades in these, more of nudes and pinks.

Sephora Contour Eye Pencil 12 Hr. Wear Waterproof My Boyfriend’s Jeans Review, Swatches

Sephora Contour Eye Pencil 12 Hr. Wear Waterproof My Boyfriend’s Jeans Review, Swatches

By Pallavi

Hii Girlies,

When any of the international clothing or makeup brand gets launched in India, it becomes a gala time for all of us makeup and fashion lovers. So, you can imagine the level of excitement when Sephora launched it’s first store in Delhi. I heard someone referring that it was like a “Sabzi Mandi” for makeup enthusiasts. Yes, the crowd was crazy and the excitement knew no bounds. I was also very thrilled by the opening of Sephora but I anyhow controlled myself and decided to check the place some days later or may be some weeks later. So, after 2 weeks I visited the place and I couldn’t stop myself. It was really fun to see brands like NYX, Burt Bees and many more there. I was really tempted for some of them but 1 product out of the entire lot there was really special for me. I couldn’t wait to lay my hands on the Sephora eye pencils. I have heard a lot of praises about them and I was dying to try them. So, I bought the and here follows the review of the same.

Product Claims : A Contouring eye pencil for a big, beautiful look that lasts up to 12 hours. Enhance and enliven your eyes with bold, long – wearing color of these eye pencils. The silky formula is resistant to water, heat and humidity up to 12 hours of smudge less wear.

Price : Rs. 890

My Experience:

Packaging wise most of the Kajal pencils are just same. They come in pencil shape which is really sleek and slim. It has black body with the electric blue cap at the top. There are some details enclosed on the body of the pencil which I really appreciate. The pencil can be easily fit inside your pocket and thus extremely travel friendly. You need to sharpen the pencil every now and then which of course leads to product wastage.

Coming to the formula of this Kajal is has a very smooth tip. It glides on the eyes also very easily and smoothly. It is very soft on eyes and even sensitive eyes would not feel any irritation. I wear lens on regular basis but I didn’t feel nay irritation or burning sensation in my eyes. It is extremely comfortable.

Coming to the shade which is aptly named as “My Boyfriend’s Jeans Electric Blue” of this Kajal and it is true to it’s name. It is more of a neon blue which is a fun and peppy shade. It is a perfect summer shade and will add glamour and style to your look and entire personality. It is bright and thus is a perfect day time color. But if you want to wear it in night then it will look Fab with monochrome or black outfits.

I apply this eyeliner on both of my upper and lower lash lines. I begin by sharpening the kajal at the tip and then apply it both the upper and lower or water line. After applying it, I let it set for about 5 minutes or so and then I am good to go.

Coming to the staying power of this Kajal is stays on me entire day long. I apply it in the morning at around 9 A.M. and till 7 P.M. it is very much visible and intact. The Kajal does not smudge or fades on the upper line.

But the story is entirely different on the lower lash line. It smudges on the sides and even fades a bit. So, I stick to applying the Kajal only on the upper line at present.

Pros of Sephora Contour Eye Pencil 12 Hr. Wear Waterproof – My Boyfriend’s Jeans

1. Terrific shade

2. Long staying power

3. Does not irritate eyes

4. Smooth texture

5. Easy in removing

Cons of Sephora Contour Eye Pencil 12 Hr. Wear Waterproof – My Boyfriend’s Jeans

1. Does not stay that long on the water line

2. Not easily available in India other than Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore

Rating – 4/5

Editor’s Note: That’s a pretty shade of blue.

Oriflame The One Illuskin Blush Review, Swatches

Oriflame The One Illuskin Blush Review, Swatches

Hi guys,

This post was in my drafts since a long time, I have been using these Oriflame blushes since a few months and here are my thoughts..

Claims: Versatile duo-shade blush lets you create perfectly contoured cheeks. Darker shade sculpts and defines while lighter, shimmering shade highlights. HaloLight Technology™ for subtle lustre. Light, silky texture and comfortable to wear.

MRP: INR 599 for 4g (On offer: INR 449)

They come in three shades and have a small, tiny square packaging. Very light weight and handy, perfect for travel. They have a mirror inside, they do not come with a brush though.

Luminous Peach: It has a satin finish deep peachy coral blush and a beige and silver highlighter

Shimmer Rose: It has a satin finish peach blush (ya it’s peach and not rose) and a peachy gold highlighter. The highlighter is beautiful, and more like blush actually since it’s peach and can be worn like a blush

Pink Glow: It has a matte coral pink blush and a beige pink highlighter. If you like matte blushes, this one is for you

The best part is you can use them individually or combined, they look good both ways.

L-R: Pink Glow, Shimmer Rose, Luminous Peach
L-R: Pink Glow, Shimmer Rose, Luminous Peach

The names are pretty confusing though coz the rose is also a peach shade and most of them are in peachy coral family. But the plus point is they work beautifully on all Indian skin tones.

You can use only the blush side for day time and combine both for night time or even use both together for day time, since the highlighter is very soft and satiny and not shimmery.

My favourite is Luminous Peach and it will look good on all skin tones from fair to dark. They are pretty pigmented and all these swatches are just one swipe, you do not need too much or do not need to go over many times with this. Staying power is decent, they stay for 4-5 hours. Only disadvantage is you need a Oriflame representative to buy these.

For the price point, they are quite good and I would say definitely buy one of these during their offers. Recommended.

Elizabeth Arden Ultra Ceramide Lipstick Brick Review, Swatches

Elizabeth Arden Ultra Ceramide Lipstick Brick Review, Swatches

By Simran

“Show off your lips, show off your lipstick”

Hello everyone!

Don’t we all enjoy an amazing red lipstick? A red lipstick is something which instantly makes you look glorious even if you are only wearing the lipstick alone. A red lipstick has its own pros; it makes you look younger, feel confident, it is perfect for every occasion and you can wear any outfit with it. Every girl probably needs to own a luxurious red lipstick in their vanity.

So, I will be reviewing one of my favourite luxury red lipstick from Elizabeth Arden, The Elizabeth Arden Ultra Ceramide lipstick in Brick.

Claims: This lustrous, colour-saturated lipstick is infused with Volulip and delivers brilliant, moisturizing, colour-lasting comfort shine, for plumper, fuller-looking lips. Lips look fuller, more defined … and feel youthfully smooth, soft and nourished. Ceramide Triple Complex helps strengthen and re-texturize skin’s appearance, holding in vital skin-plumping moisture. Lips look fuller and younger. Contours seem more defined.

Key ingredient: Volulip ceramide triple complex.

Price: $24 or approximately INR 1650.

Packaging: The lipstick tube is black in colour with trails of golden near the cap. I bought the lipstick last year from duty-free but now the company has changed the packaging which is embossed with a design inspired by the iconic Elizabeth Arden Red Door and textured golden in colour. Despite the change in packaging, the texture and colour remained the same.

Texture & Colour: The lipstick is not exactly a glossy lipstick, it leaves a sheen on your lips; it is more of a demi-matte or moisture-matte in finish. The texture is buttery smooth and it glides on your lips like a dream and gives you a rich feel. It is very comfortable on the lips to wear. The lipstick does transfer a lot if you do not set it with powder.

Coming to the colour, the hue of the lipstick is a cool toned red or brick red. It is very pleasing to the eyes and can be worn daily to your work place.

My take on the product: The lipstick being a moisture matte lipstick is one of my favourite go-to red lipsticks. The brick red colour will ideally suit Indian skin tones. I like to turn down the lipstick to a complete matte by patting some translucent powder over it.

The staying power of the lipstick is a good 7-8 hours after which it will start fading from the centre of the lips; the lipstick can survive a good 4 course meal. It does not bleed or settle in to fine lines.

The Volulip ceramide triple complex does help in giving the illusion of plump lips and the lips appear more fuller. The company claims that the lipstick lasts a good 20 hours, which I highly disagree with.

Overall, the pigmentation of the lipstick is great and it offers an amazing colour pay off in just one swipe.

Though the lipstick is not transfer proof. I recommend using the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful colour smooth line lip pencil in the shade Crimson along with the lipstick as a lip liner underneath.

Pros:

  • Appreciable Lasting power
  • Great pigmentation
  • Will suit Indian skin tones
  • Plumps lips and gives a fuller look
  • Does not settle into fine lines
  • Gives a luxurious feel
  • Does not bleed upon application

Cons:

None I can think of.

Rating: 4.5/5

I recommend this lipstick to anyone looking for a great cool toned red lipstick for everyday use; this is one of the best options to try out in the luxury section.

Editor’s Note: That’s a pretty red!

MAC Matte Lipstick Whirl Review, Swatches & Dupe

MAC Matte Lipstick Whirl Review, Swatches & Dupe

By Linda

Hello Ladies,

While I go shopping I make it a point to try various lipsticks but somehow don’t know why I end up purchasing a MAC lipstick only, maybe it’s because of the variety of shades suiting most of the skin tones.

So this review is about another MAC lipstick, from the Matte Lip collection in the shade WHIRL. There is a lip liner also available in the same shade. I found the lip liner to be too dry on my lips as compared to the lipstick. So let’s go ahead with the review.

What MAC Claims and Packaging: Dirty Rose with Matte finish. The lipstick is packed in a Classic MAC matte black and silver lipstick container with the shade mentioned at the bottom.

Price: Rs 1450/- for 3g (I believe it is increased to Rs.1950 now :/)

My take on MAC Whirl Lipstick

MAC claims the shade as dirty rose but in simple words I can say this is a mauve brown neutral shade. The content of brown is little on the higher side so it can tend to look darker under natural light. The texture is creamy on application, glides smoothly to give a matte finish on the lips. This shade would go well on medium skin tones to fair skin tones but I’m really not sure how it would go on dusky to dark skin tones. If you are confused on which lipstick shade to wear, be safe and wear a neutral shade, in such cases I definitely would recommend MAC Whirl.

I’m not happy with the stay power, as after meals, the lipstick completely vanished from my lips. May be prior prepping and a whirl lip liner would help the product to last longer or you got to retouch your lipstick after every meal. You can wear this shade at your work place as well as on any other occasion. It does accentuate the lines on my dry lips. The coverage is good and I mostly wear it without the lip liner as it doesn’t bleed.

TIP: Trying using this shade along with MAC Mehr or MAC Brave, or any lip liner close to old rose shade. I bet the mixtures of colors will give an awesome result.

Definitely there is something about MAC Whirl, as when this shade was launched it was sold out in no time.I got my hands on this almost after a year.

Pros:

  • Best for work place
  • Good coverage
  • Creamy texture
  • Suits most of the skin tones.
  • Glides on smoothly
  • Looks best along with an old rose lip liner or lipstick.

Cons:

  • Poor Staying power
  • A little heavy on the pockets (as many neutral shades are easily available)
  • Might accentuate the lines on the lip (mostly on dry lips)

Rating: 3.5/5

Would I repurchase WHIRL Mac Lipstick? Not so sure, as there are many shades of neutrals in MAC, would like to try those.

Dupe Alert: Rimmel London Kate Nude Lipstick in 48 is an exact dupe of MAC Whirl! Maybelline Matte Lipstick in Nude Nuance is also a close dupe

Editor’s Note: I quite like the shade, this is really pretty and perfect for all skin tones! MAC Whirl Lip Liner is what Kylie Jenner loves and uses a lot, so it’s always sold out most of the times 😀

Lakme CC Color Transform Cream Beige, Bronze Review & Demo

Lakme CC Color Transform Cream Beige, Bronze Review & Demo

Hi guys,

As some of you wanted a review on these new Lakme 9 to 5 Color Transform CC Creams, here you go..

What the Company claims: Tired of using a bunch of different products every day to get that perfect look, what if you could have your fairness cream, moisturizer, sunscreen and concealer all in one seamless CC cream. It’s time to toss the clutter aside and make way for first colour changing CC cream from the house of Lakme.. Lakme’s first advanced fairness cream that changes color as you blend, to give a make-up finish.

Key Ingredients: Water, Color changing beads, UVA & UVB Sunscreens.

Ingredients:

Warning: Avoid contact with eyes. Wash your eyes thoroughly with clean water in case of eye contact

It Instantly:

  • Brightens
  • Conceals
  • Evens Skin Tone
  • Moisturizes
  • Protects against sun with SPF 30 PA++

Shades Available: Beige, Bronze

MRP: Rs.325/- for 30g (Buy at Rs.260 HERE)

I think they have discontinued the previous CC Cream, since that was in two shades Beige and Bronze and I was in middle, I could never use it much. Beige was light for me and Bronze was dark for me.

Thankfully, with this Color Transform Cream, it blends and matches your skin tone, so I need not worry about it being light or dark. Bronze will definitely be darker for me though but the Beige one matches me well.

It comes in a similar tube packaging but in an ombre white to nude pink color, representing the color transform. It comes out as a white cream with tiny, little grey-black beads in it. They do not feel like beads or gritty since they are very minute. But those help in actually transforming the cream. Once you apply and blend it onto the skin, it changes color and matches your skin tone. Both shades look exactly the same in swatch, but once blended you can notice how beige is light and bronze is darker.

Bronze, Beige

Beige is perfect for fair to medium skin tone and Bronze is perfect for medium to dark skin tones. I am glad they have strong beige yellow undertones and are perfect for most Indian skin tones. Though if you are cool toned or pinker, this might look a little yellow on you.

Watch detailed video and demo here..

This cream instantly brightens and evens out the skin, as claimed. It does feel moisturizing and also gives SPF30 PA++ protection. Though this will not cover your dark circles or blemishes, you will have to use a concealer separately on top for that. You also need to set this cream with a powder since it is on the heavier side.

But once set, it stays put for a good 6-7 hours, only needs a powder touch up in between. I do use a concealer for under eyes and a powder separately, but I do see myself using this a lot for everyday basis.

I totally recommend this for college and work wear. This is perfect for everyday use and with the online discount, it turns out to be pretty economical and gives sunscreen protection with PA++ too.

If you do not like using separate products and love multi tasking products, you will love it! If you need more coverage and wear makeup regularly, you can use this a primer.

Also one thing I noticed is the more you blend, the more it adapts to your skin tone. I am not really sure, let me know in the comments below, if you tried and experienced that.

Overall, definitely recommend it!

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer Review, Swatches

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer Review, Swatches

Hi guys,

I have been trying out two new Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primers since quite a few days now and here are my thoughts on it..

What the Company claims:

What it is: A makeup primer that assists with balancing the skin’s texture and tone for smoother, more even, and longer-lasting makeup wear.

What it does: Prep skin for your makeup routine with Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primers, and address your skin concerns with this innovative makeup primer. Perfect for balancing skin and achieving an ideal makeup result, it’s lightweight and creamy, leaving a more evenly-toned appearance, and increases foundation’s hold. This primer for all skintones leaves makeup looking fresh for hours while it hydrates, firms, and smooths the look of the skin.

Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer is available in 10 formulas to target every texture and tone concern:

Texture:
Mattifying Primer reduces shine for oily skin.
Smoothing Primer evens the skin’s texture.
Hydrating Primer preps normal skin and restores balance.
Nourishing Primer moisturizes and comforts.
Redness Correcting Primer neutralizes.

Tone:
Radiant Primer Blue adds radiance to light skin.
Radiant Primer Pink adds radiance to light to medium skin.
Radiant Primer Yellow adds radiance to light to medium skin.
Radiant Primer Peach adds radiance to medium to tan skin.
Radiant Primer Caramel adds radiance to dark skin.

If you’re not sure where to start, try the Smoothing and Hydrating Primers.

“Like painters, who need a perfectly smooth, even-colored, and flawless canvas, makeup artists require even-toned and smooth skin for an optimal and professional makeup result.”—Dany Sanz, MAKE UP FOR EVER Founder and Creative Director

MAKE UP FOR EVER’S exclusive Equalizer Technology features Acti Tensor 3D, Hyaluronic Acid, and Regeactive, which help to hydrate, firm, and smooth the skin to create the perfect makeup canvas.

MRP: Rs.3300/- for 30ml

Suggested Usage:
-Before applying makeup to skin, dab a quarter size amount with fingertips or sponge in a downward motion.
-Customize your results by mixing texture and tone formulas.
-Combine redness correcting or radiant primers before mattifying or smoothing, or you hydrating or smoothing primers can be combined before redness correcting or radiant primers.
-Finish with your favorite foundation.

I have the Smoothing one and the Radiant Blue one. It comes in a small handy tube packaging with a nozzle dispensor which dispenses just the right amount of product.

The Smoothing one is tinted and is more silicony and thick while the Radiant Blue one has a blue tint of course, but is a little more liquidy and runny.

The Radiant Blue one is made in France while the Smoothing one is made in Japan, as you can see here. I believe they have strict quality control standards.

Both are quite easy to apply and use and give a nice, smooth canvas for the foundation to work on. The Radiant Blue one gives a soft blue tint which makes the skin looks brighter with the foundation too. While the Smoothing one, completely smoothes out the pores and fine lines. Even on the hand swatch when blended the Smoothing one, it gave a flawless look and blurred out all the fine lines.

Left- Smoothing, Right- Radiant Blue
Left- Smoothing, Right- Radiant Blue (Blended)

If you have a lot of pores and fine lines on the face, I would definitely suggest the Smoothing one. If you have very oily skin, then the Mattifying one is perfect for you and Hydrating one is amazing for dry skin. I have seen a lot of my favourite YouTubers who have dry skin, use and love the Hydrating one.

If I have to pick one from the two, I like the Smoothing one a little more for the flawless finish it gives to my skin.

These are a little expensive but you just need a little bit for each use. And Make Up For Ever products do come with a heavy price tag, but also offers great quality.

I definitely recommend these! If you are not into color correcting, then Smoothing/Mattifying/Hydrating ones are worth a try!

Sadly MUFE is only available at Sephora currently, so you can only get it in Delhi, Mumbai & Bangalore or you can pick them up when you are travelling.

I have the shade New Marine which is a cool toned emerald green with a pearly finish. The Modern Twist Kajal glides on pretty smooth and do not tug or pull. These are super pigmented and with two swipes would give a perfect, opaque line. These are water proof as well as smudge proof but need a good makeup remover to take it off. On the upper lashline, they stay put almost whole day, however on the waterline, they do fade away after 6-7 hours which is still pretty good.

They retract only one way, so be careful and do not retract the entire pencil. As we are used to two way retracting pencils, this is a disadvantage as one has to be extra cautious or the entire pencil will go waste.

They have a beautiful n*de shade called ‘Nothing On’ which is a perfect nude for the waterline. I am eyeing that one.

Overall I would say these are definitely worth a try.

MRP: Rs.1800 for 8.5ml

Shades Available: 16

As rightly described, Veriscolour Stain is a mix of lip gloss and lip stain. It looks and feels like a lip gloss and is pigmented and long staying like a lip stain. It comes with a doe foot applicator. The packaging is basic black with transparent see through part in between to identify the colour.

It is jelly like in texture and goes on like a lip gloss. The only disadvantage is that it might smear and smudge since it is very pigmented and liquidy/runny. I love the pigmentation and staying power, although doesn’t stay 8 hours, but stays a decent 4-4.5 hours on me. It is not transfer proof though, so will fade away with a full meal, it leaves behind a pretty stain.

These are slightly expensive at Rs.1800 but it’s an innovative product. If you like lip glosses and prefer them to be more pigmented and long staying which leave a nice stain behind, you will love this.

I have the shade Preserving Passion which is a nice, deep wine berry colour.

MAC Zac Posen Collection

I have the Haute Contour from the MAC Zac Posen Collection which is a powder blush-bronzer duo. The packaging is very sturdy and it comes with a nice mirror.

What the Company claims: A powder blush duo to achieve the sculpted look seen in Zac Posen’s runway shows.

MRP: Rs. 2800 for 10g

The bronzer is medium brown with warm orange-yellow undertones and the blush is a medium coral pink with gold shimmer. I don’t have much to say about this, there is no pigmentation in the product. You have to go over at least 6-7 times for some colour to show up on your skin. The bronzer is still better but the blush gives no colour sadly. Disappointed with this, do not recommend.

MAC Flamingo Park Collection

I have a lipstick and a cremesheen glass from this collection.

MRP: Rs.1450 for lipstick and Rs.1650 for cremesheen glass

The lipstick in Flocking Fabulous is a bright coral red and is a mix of cremesheen + pearl finish and Such Sweeties is a pastel baby pink. There are 9 other lipsticks in this collection and 5 cremesheen glass.

The lipstick is bright and pigmented, goes on smooth and is very comfortable on the lips. It has a glossy finish but the glossiness settles down after some time. It stays put for a decent 4-5 hours without meal. The cremesheen glass is completely non sticky and very smooth to apply. It is not that pigmented and needs a base like a lipliner or lipstick below. I used it as it is and it doesn’t look very flattering as it does not cover pigmented lips.

I had used this lipglass in my blue smokey eyes tutorial HERE

It has a doe foot wand and a nice, warm vanilla smell.

Absolutely love the lipstick, the cremesheen glass is pretty nice but with a base colour.

L-R: Preserving Passion, New Marin, Haute Contour, Flocking Fabulous, Such Sweeties

Here I have used the Modern Twist Kajal in New Marine, I went for the half and half eyeliner look with half being green and half black, and also used it on the waterline. I have also used Haute Contour which is not much visible coz of the pigmentation and the Preserving Passion Stain.

Excuse my under eyes, I should have used an orange corrector, but I was in a hurry that day as had to leave for an event.

Overall I would definitely recommend the Modern Twist Kajal and Versicolour Stains. Also if you can get your hands on Flocking Fabulous, some lipsticks and cremesheen glass shades are ‘fabulous’ 😀

Have you tried any of these? Your favourite?
