Vichy Ideal White Meta Whitening Sleeping Mask Review

Hey guys,

I have used the previous Vichy Sleeping Mask i.e. the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa which I absolutely loved. So I was curious to try this new one.

What the Company claims: The range employs metabolic whitening with powerful active ingredients that work in harmony with each other to give Asian women the three dimensional fairness that they strive for – flawless, luminous and radiant skin. The 1st whitening sleeping mask three times more effective that works overnight for a dewy, brighter and fairer skin.

Product Concern:

Ingredients:

First of, I am not happy with the ‘Whitening’ tag it has. They can claim dewy, luminous, brighter, radiant skin and all that which they have but why whitening :/

It comes in a white glass tub with a pink cap and a mirror finish top. The mask is gel like in texture with a light pink tint and small tiny white beads in it. The beads are not meant for exfoliation, they dissolve on the skin when you massage the gel on your skin.

It has an aquatic plus a little chemically smell, not very pleasant. I like the gel based texture, that makes it very easy to glide on and massage. It can be used as a night cream or a night sleeping mask, either way the method of application is the same, just as a mask, you need to apply a little thicker layer.

As a night cream, it doesn’t get absorbed into your skin. It just sits on your face like a mask, and you have to wash it off the next morning. So ideally it is a mask only.

Now I have been using it on and off and stopped in between for a few days coz I broke out twice in between and had to see if this product is breaking me out. I once tried it as a mask during the day and kept it on and after 15-20 minutes, my skin was feeling a little itchy and hence I had to wash it off. I realized this mask was breaking me out earlier too, hence the delay in review.

There is some ingredient in the mask that does not go well with my skin and my skin starts feeling itchy and it breaks me out. So now I use it as a normal mask, apply and keep it on for 10 minutes and wash it off, I do not keep it ON for whole night.

If you have sensitive skin, I would not advise you to try this. This is good for dry skin and skin instantly feels hydrated and nourished even in 10-15 minutes. It definitely removes your tan and gives a translucent sheen to your skin which I love. I wish my skin didn’t react to this.

If I had to pick one out of the two Vichy Sleeping Masks I have tried, I liked the Aqualia Thermal Night Spa more.

Overall I would say, it is definitely amazing to remove tan and hydrate your skin, it does give a nice glow, but obviously temporary, you have to keep using it to see results. It does give a dewy, brighter skin as it claims. If you use it 2-3 times a week, that would be good enough. I recommend it for normal to dry skin. Though it mentions ideal for sensitive skin, I would not suggest it for them, unless you check the ingredients and are aware if your skin reacts to a particular ingredient.

Hi guys,

I am reviewing this innovative product today which is a sleeping mask cum night cream, you can use it both ways. Just apply a thick layer, massage well (blood circulation on the face) and leave on for 10-15 minutes and wash off or let it stay whole night like a night cream.

How To Use:

• Close your eyes, and let this fresh aqua-gel infuse the skin for 10 to 15 minutes. Breathe in and take the time to appreciate the refreshing feeling of the product.
• Repeat 1-3 times per week.

Ingredients:

It comes in this deep bluish purple tub with a white cap. It has a light blue tint and a faint aqua smell. As mentioned, the texture is more gel like and not like a cream.

It blends easily but it does not get completely absorbed into the skin. It sits on the skin and hydrates the skin as it’s more like a mask. But it will dry quickly and won’t be visible after few minutes. When you wash it off, you do feel you are washing off something slippery.

This was my go-to for winters, dryness and dullness is a common problem in winters. Skin looks patchy with those white flakes peeling off. I just used this on nights when I felt my skin was looking very dry and patchy and the next day, after washing it off, skin was soft and supple.

It is advised to use 1-3 a week, there is no harm in using it regularly too, if you feel like. Coz it has no harmful ingredients and it’s perfectly fine. I usually use it 1-2 times a week or whenever I feel like. It’s like a mini spa for your face, either use to give your face a good massage or if you don’t have the time for that, just apply and leave it on for the night.

It is slightly on the expensive side but the quantity is pretty decent and since you don’t need to use it everyday, it will last pretty long!

I definitely recommend this, especially for people with dry skin. This is really good for days when skin feels over dry and flaky.

Vichy Purete Thermale Spa 3 in 1 Calming Cleansing Micellar Solution (quite a mouthful) comes in this rectangular bottle packaging with a flip cap. The plastic bottle is slightly big and not very travel friendly.

I have been using this since quite some time now. It removes all of my makeup easily, especially melts the foundation and removes the lipstick in one go.

My only issue was the eye area again 🙁 Sadly how much ever I try and shut my eyes tight while removing my eye makeup, some remover seeps into the eye and the eyes start burning. Thankfully, this did not burn my eyes as much, but yes I couldn’t remove my kajal on the waterline with this too, as with other micellar waters.

Before (Worn Out Makeup) – After

The best thing is you need not wash your face, it is completely non sticky and non greasy. It is just like water, that melts all your makeup and removes it all. It is very calming and soothing and perfect for sensitive skin too.

Compared to Bioderma, this is slightly expensive. (Bioderma Sensibio is Rs.860/- fro 250ml) But both worked almost the same way for me. If you cannot get your hands on the Bioderma one or want to try something new, I would highly recommend you try this Vichy Purete Thermale Spa Micellar Solution.

Overall I would say, apart from my eye area, I loved it using on the face and it made removing makeup quite an ease. I would have preferred if it would come in smaller bottles and different variants.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum comes in this long and slender aqua blue bottle with a transparent cap and a pump packaging. The pump is easy to use and dispense the product, no pressing 10 times to get the product unlike in few.

It’s a glass bottle and slightly heavy,hence not very travel friendly. Coming to the texture, it is off white in color, and gel like in texture as most serums. It feels slightly slippery but not much and gets easily absorbed into the skin, without leaving any residue or slippery feeling even though it has silicones (Dimethicone & Dimethiconol)

It is very hydrating and moisturising, my skin feels evenly hydrated and there have been no breakouts or dry patches with this. And the best part is no stickiness or greasiness at all! It is so light that you would not feel you have used any moisturizer and still have your skin completely hydrated.

It does what it claims, hydrated, plump and fresh looking skin all day. I use it once in the morning and I am sorted, I sometimes use it at night too, but currently using a different product at night time.

It does not claim much like even skin tone or anti-ageing, etc, so all it does it provide you hydration. This will work great for all skin types, be it oily or dry, since it does it’s job of hydration well and is very light in texture.

It is a bit on the expensive side, but this lasts really long as you need just one single pump for your entire face and neck. It is available online and also on www.vichy.in

Overall, I would say it is not something which makes tall claims about giving you flawless skin, but it does what it claims. So if you are looking for a good moisturiser for your dry skin or have dry patches on the skin, then this will definitely work for you. Recommended.
