New Luxury Beauty Box: VanityCask | Review & Unboxing

Hi guys,

I have come across a new luxury beauty box in the market which is VanityCask. I tried their skincare box this month and here are my thoughts..

About: VanityCask is a beauty box that gets delivered to your home periodically. It contains samples of luxury beauty brands, handpicked by experts, to suit Indians. Our first box, for example, contains 5 skincare samples from international brands such as Clinque, Vichy, Votre, Kama and Thalgo.

MRP: Rs.999/- per box (Buy HERE)

This is their first skincare box, next they are coming up with haircare and bath & body box.

It comes in a sleek, black box packaging with a magnetic fold. They have their logo in pink on top. The box is quite sturdy and nice, the contents inside are in a pink cloth tie up bag.

Products I got:

  • Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream
  • Kama Ayurveda Rejuvenating & Brightening Night Cream
  • Thalgo Ultra Hydra Marine Mask
  • Votre Absolute Hydration Moisturizer
  • Vichy Capital Soleil SPF50 Sunscreen

Now I like the fact that they have not included sachets, but good decent sized samples. Especially Clinique & Votre are very good sizes. Even Kama Ayurveda night cream is pretty decent size. I would have liked 2-3 more tubes of Thalgo and Vichy though.

The box comes with a booklet which has more details about each box, including the key ingredients and directions to use. Also they have a few offers at the end, like this time they have the Anjali Mukherjee’s Rs.1000 voucher.

They claim to have luxury beauty brands only and each box will have 5 items. So that’s a plus point, as we know there would be no unknown brand and 5 items for sure.

I would have liked the price to be Rs.800-850 though, as Rs.999/- is a little expensive, but if I get a few more tubes of each sample, then I guess it’s fine. Also if they come up with a luxury makeup box, then I definitely don’t mind Rs.999/-. I hope soon 😀

Things I liked:

  • Detailed booklet

Things that could be better:

  • Priced a little lower
  • More quantity of smaller tubes

Overall, I would say it’s a nice box to try if you love luxury beauty brands and would like to try more samples first, before investing in full sized products. Especially for people who don’t live in metro cities and do not have easy access to the stores to go and check out the testers or get samples. Now you can sit at home and try out these luxury beauty samples, and then order the full sized online, if the product works for you.

June 2016 My Envy Box Unboxing, Review & 15% off Discount Code

I got the June My Envy Box right now and the box is so pretty! I just can’t take my eyes off the box, they have a designer who designs boxes each month and I have been noticing fabulous boxes since the past 1-2 months.

I have tons of My Envy Boxes and I had to throw some old, plain ones previously as I was short of space, but I am surely keeping these pretty ones!! I love floral print and this is one of my favourite prints.

  • O3+ Aloe Derma Hydrating Gel- 50g (Rs.385/-)
  • Herra Protecting Hair Perfume Oudh Inspired- 10ml (Rs.2495/- for 50ml)
  • Votre Purifying Deep Cleansing & Clearing Masque- 50g (Rs.1090/- for 100g)
  • Ck2 Perfume sample Vial
  • L’Occitane Divine Cream- 2 sample sachets

Ok, so it’s kind of a mixed thing this month, there is one full sized product and two deluxe samples and two small sachets.

I quite liked the O3+ Aloe Gel which is full sized. Absolutely loved the Herra Hair Perfume, I sprayed it immediately and it smells divine! Also this 10ml bottle is perfect to carry in your bag.

I love face masks and I don’t think I have come across a good deep cleansing and clearing masque in India yet. The Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay one is on my wish list, but I really liked the sound of this one. Looking forward to trying this one out and it’s 50g i.e. half the size of the product which is pretty decent.

Not really a fan of the perfume sample vial or sachets, so no comments on that. I would appreciate if subscription boxes/bags totally do away with tiny samples and sachets, even considering these two brands among the products in the box is unjustified.

So for me, these three are the main products and the ones I liked and looking forward to try. The value of these products in the box comes to Rs.1175/-

May 2016 My Envy Box Unboxing, Review & 15% off Code

So I just the May My Envy Box, the theme for this month is ‘Tropical Beauty’.

It’s a bright yellow colored box, I love the color and the whole tropical print. It comes in a outer white box and as soon as I opened the package, it had a strong citrus smell, and I knew it’s something good.

Let’s see what all I got:

To start with the Island Kiss Lip Moisturizer, I have all three and really like them. I have reviewed them on my Instagram HERE. You must have seen them all over the net already, Puerto Berry Blush is my favourite of the three and these are indeed quite good.

Votre makes some good skincare stuff, and I love using mists in place of toners, being a toning mist, it’s just perfect. Looking forward to trying this one out.

Lemon Essential Oil from Roots And Above, was the one giving the box, this awesome smell. I am all about essential oils and you can mix them with your skincare, hair oils, etc. There are number of ways to use them and I am surely going to try this one soon.

Gulnare is a new organic and hand made brand in the market. I got their Pumpkin face wash too, in the May SugarBox, and this Seaflo one is the 2nd product from them. This one has a combination of cucumber, wheatgerm and grapeseed oil. Sounds good.

Also a Kiehl’s gift voucher is really good for someone who hasn’t tried Kiehl’s yet. I have got skin consultation there, a number of times. There are experts in every Kiehl’s store who will check your skin texture, condition, problems, etc. and accordingly suggest you Kiehl’s products and would give a lot of samples, good enough to try for a week.

They also have a Rs.500/- off on May Jewellery Box coupon code card, ‘MAYJB’ is the code.

The value of the products in the box come to Rs.1675/– which is pretty good, also I have a 15% off discount code for you guys, you can use ‘NLMBHUMIKA’ at checkout and get the box at Rs.722/– which is a steal!

Jan 2016 Beauty Resolutions Fab Bag Review

So this time I received the Fab Bag at my mom’s place the My Envy Box at my old address, so the delay in review or posted on social media directly.

January 2016 Fab Bag theme is ‘Beauty Resolutions’ coz we all have New Year resolutions 😀 The makeup print on the bag is super pretty and this is the perfect cosmetic bag for travel or storage, one of my most favourite Fab Bag bags!

Let’s come to the products, so I had an option to select one product in this month’s bag out of all the makeup options, and I had already tried everything else, so I went with the Laqa & Co. Nail Polish Pen coz I have never tried a nail polish pen and it was a nice, summery peach shade which I can’t wait to wear in summers.

  • Natural Bath & Body French Red Clay Face Mask 20g (Full size Rs 450/- for 100 ml)
  • Natural Bath & Body Vitamin E Whipped Cream 15g (Full size Rs 275/- for 50 ml)
  • Laqa and Co. Nail polish pen  (Full size Rs.1000/- for 5ml)
  • Votre Face Serum Full size (Rs 1670/- for 12 ml)
  • BBlunt Spotlight Hair Polish mini- Rs.250/-

I love the sound of both the Natural Bath & Body products and also the ingredients are pretty good. The French Red Clay mask has virgin coconut oil, turmeric powder, sandalwood extract, beetroot powder, kaolin clay, fuller’s earth, etc. And the Whipped cream is a blend of Vitamin E and argan oil. The cream is perfect for winters but I would prefer using the clay based mask in summers as clay based masks dry out my skin more though the coconut oil should balance it out, my skin is already super dry these days and I won’t risk it.

The Laqa & Co. Nail polish pen is in the shade Tweedledee is a nice pastel peach shade and also my first nail polish pen, quite happy that it’s a full sized product, can’t wait to try it out.

I love using serums and oils especially at night and in winters, currently I am obsessed with The Body Shop Oils Of Life Revitalizing Facial Oil, and this Votre Face serum sounds amazing with all the blend of essential and cold pressed oils in the ingredients. But my only worry is only active ingredients are mentioned :/ I hope it doesn’t break me out coz the Just Herbs Rejuvenating Beauty Elixir in the previous Fab Bag did break me out. I like the fact that this again is a full sized product.

And last but not the least, the BBlunt spotlight mini hair spray. Now I have 2 of the full sized ones and also one mini of this and I absolutely love it, it is perfect for adding some shine post your hairstyle and it gives slight hold too, though not much. It doesn’t make your hair stiff or hard and gives a nice sheen on the hair. This mini version is perfect for travel and/or handbag.

In all, I would say I loved this month’s Fab Bag and the fact that I got two full sized products, one hair spray mini and 2 deluxe sized samples and all the products are pretty good. Absolutely recommend getting this month’s bag if you still haven’t, also the bag in itself is really cute & quite useful.

Last month’s bag was also quite good, I hope this continues coz the products and bags have been really good from the past 2-3 months (except Nov) Touchwood!
