New Whisper Ultra Clean: 5x Better Protection

If you follow me on twitter, you would be knowing about the new Whisper Ultra Clean. They also had a Bloggers’ Meet on 19th Dec where Aditi Mittal, Kalki Koechlin were present, more on the event later.

I had received this new Whisper Ultra Clean at the start of December with the event invite and I tried it last month.

What it claims:  It claims to have 1000 suction holes which absorb upto 100% wetness offering more dryness, faster absorption and more protection. Magic Gel Crystals, Odour Lock technology, extra long and a softer, comfortable top cover.

One Whisper Ultra Clean = 5 Ordinary Pads

I have always used Whisper Ultra and was all eager to try this new and improved version. I loved the packaging and how it came in this wooden basket and had this white and green theme going on.

I did feel the change in these newer pads, having used Whisper Ultra always, these ones definitely offered more dryness and I also like the fact that these are XL and long enough to not worry about sleeping or staining the bed sheet.

There are a lot of taboos associated with periods in India. When I was young, my grandmother told me that whenever I get my periods or they just start and I see it, I should immediately go and have a bath including hair bath. I used to follow it for a few years as I was quite naive about the entire periods thing. There were times when I had some important work and was getting late and still had to go and take a bath as I got my periods. As soon as I matured, I realized this ‘custom’ had no logic or reasoning and I stopped following it. Other such taboos are not touching the pickle during periods as it would turn bad, not touching idols or worshipping or going to temples, etc. While I don’t believe in any of the others and don’t follow them, I still avoid going to temples only not to irk someone else’s sentiments or beliefs.

And coming to owing those 5 days, I consider those days as any other days and live normally. My first day at times is a little painful and I usually take a tablet if it obstructs my work or I have to go out. I either go for Spasmonil or Cycolpam, Cyclopam is a little heavy and half an hour you feel a bit weird post having it. I am stuck to Spasmonil ever since I have used it. I don’t go for a tablet unless the pain or cramps are a lot. Few things which doctors recommend and I try to follow  and which work for me during those five days are less salt, less caffeine, light exercise, hot water bag, etc.

Inspiring Women In Leadership

Inspiring Women In Leadership

How do inspiring stories elevate women of the future and help them raise the bar?

#EveryWomanIsALeader in her own way. It is important for her to realize her worth. And there are so many inspiring women out there, who would make you feel like, get up and do something, you too can!

For me, these are a few examples of inspiring women who are the most amazing leaders..

1. Indra Nooyi

Well, who else would be the most inspiring woman in the world for all of us?! Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi, business executive and the current Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo, the second largest food and beverage business in the world. She has consistently ranked among the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women. In 2014, she was ranked 13 in the list of Forbes World’s 100 most powerful women.

2. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw

Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, the founder Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Biocon Limited. She started Biocon in 1978 and today under Shaw’s leadership, Biocon has established itself as a leading player in biomedicine research with focus on diabetes and oncology.

3. Chanda Kochhar

She is the MD & CEO of India’s largest private bank ICICI Bank, Being a Chartered Accountant, I always admired her the most and still do!

4. Saina Nehwal

Coming to sports, Saina is currently ranked No. 2 in the world by Badminton World Federation. She is also the first Indian after Prakash Padukone and the first Indian woman to become world number 1. She also recently won the India Open Super Series Title.

5. Mary Kom

Mar Kom is a five-time World Amateur Boxing champion, and the only woman boxer to have won a medal in each one of the six world championships. She became the first Indian woman boxer to get a Gold Medal in the Asian Games in 2014.

6. Tarla Dalal

Coming to other fields now, I used to really follow, respect and admire Tarla Dalal. She was the only woman in the field when there were others like Sanjeev Kapoor. She wrote over 100 books and sold more than 3 million books. She also ran the largest Indian food web site, and published a bi-monthly magazine, Cooking & More. It is sad that she is no more.

7. Ekta Kapoor

She is the most successful female producer in the entertainment industry. Though her work is not something we love or applaud, but she knows her business well and has been super successful till date.

And there are many many more, these were just a few examples. It is not ‘luck’ that played a part in their lives always. Each and every successful women leader out there, has an inspiring story. Struggles have been a part of everyone’s lives and it was not all hunky dory for them. Neither did they achieve all this in a day! Hard work and sheer perseverance have made them reach where they are.

So, pick you leader, be inspired and remember ‘You Too Can’!
